Who is Funding the Peanut President?

What would be the reaction if George W. Bush collected $146 million in secret contributions to fund his activities in one year after leaving office? Wouldn't you think people would want to know who was contributing, how a former president was selling his stature and whether the effort to fundraise conflicted with U.S. national interests?

Well, we all know the rules by now: If a Republican is doing this, he or she is subject to intense scrutiny and unending questions from the "news" media.

If a Democrat is doing it, well heck, why bother?

But with the furor over the Peanut President's book "Palestine: Peace Not Apartheid," Carter's defense of a Nazi death camp guard and the slew of resignations from his Carter Center in Atlanta fresh questions are being asked.

Claudia Rosett has the story in National Review. Don't expect to see anything like it in the lamestream "news" media.
