Iraq's Founding Fathers and Freedom Fighters Kill 32 Children in Baghdad Blast

Readers may have seen stories elsewhere likening terrorists in Iraq or Iran to our nation's founding fathers and the freedom fighters in our Revolutionary War. Well, even those so mired in that fog of moral equivalence may snap back to reality for a second with the following story.

George Washington may have chopped down a cherry tree, but history does not record him bombing school children or beheading people.

32 Children Die in Baghdad Blast: "BAGHDAD, 14 July 2005 Thirty-two children were killed yesterday when a suicide bomber blew up his car near US soldiers as they handed out candies in a Baghdad neighborhood. Another 31, mostly children, were also wounded in the blast, while a US soldier died and three were injured, hospital and US sources said."
I posted the following at Iraq the Model, an Iraqi site in Baghdad where the horror of this atrocity was so deeply felt:

"This moral equivalence which allows the monsters that commit such atrocities to be known as 'patriotic resistance' or 'freedom fighters' is appaling. The people in the United States that push this garbage, including some in what they prefer to call the "mainstream media" undermine the Iraqi people's effort to overcome the sad history inflicted upon you now and during the hideous reign of Hussein. These Orwellian revisionist liberals have the blood of innocent children on their hands. And more people, Iraqis, Americans and others will die as a result of this inability or unwillingness to call EVIL by it's name."
