Grieving Mother Writes Obama: Where's Justice for My Son Killed by Criminal Illegal Alien?

Why does Obama get a pass on the consequences of his open borders policy?

Democrats usually try and pull on the heart strings when they want to gin up sympathy for illegal aliens. They don't want us to see the consequences of their unfettered open borders policy. But here's a story that's played out all too often showing the consequences of that policy.

Unlike the Army deserter Bowe Bergdahl, Police Officer Brandon Mendoza actually served his community with honor and distinction. Mendoza, 32 years old, was a 13 year veteran of the Mesa Arizona Police force. In May Mendoza was killed by a drunk driver who was an illegal alien who had not been deported despite an earlier criminal history.

The Mesa community was in shock with the loss of this officer who was more than just a cop. Here's a sampling of some of what was said about Medoza:

• "Everything about him made you laugh. Even in his serious mode, he was funny. (He) loved his job, and he was a damn good cop."
• "he had a heart for helping." 
• "epitomized what community policing is all about," said Mesa Police Chief Frank Milstead. 
• "His life was filled with love, loyalty and laughter. He had the biggest heart of anyone I knew."
•  "He exemplified everything good about a police officer."

Not only did Mendoza serve the community as a police officer, he also volunteered his time with several Valley organizations.

"He was definitely one of the good ones," said Chris Cuasula, with the Grant Woods branch of the Mesa Boys and Girls Club. "Besides the police officer part and everything he did through that, he was just a good person. He genuinely cared."

Cuasula said he first met Mendoza a few years ago when they worked together with the Guerrero Rotary Group to clean up the once crime-ridden park and make it a safe place for families.

"The thing that I most enjoyed about him was that he wanted to empower this community, to take it back," said Cuasula.

He said Mendoza also volunteered his time at the Boys and Girls Club - especially during the holidays.

On Thanksgiving, Mendoza would bring turkeys, cook and serve the community meals.

"During Christmas, he would bring presents for the families and for some of the kids that needed it," said Cuasula.

Mendoza also had a soft spot for animals.

Several months ago, he rescued a pit bull he'd found tied to a tree.

Mendoza then saved her again when, after taking her to the county shelter, she was about to be put down due to kennel cough.

Mendoza Mother Demands Answers

The above goes beyond the deserved praise for a fallen officer. Obviously, the community lost a real hero when Mendoza was killed. To his mother and so many others, it was a loss that never should have happened. His mother wrote to Obama:

I had my son's life STOLEN from me by a man who didn't value his life, was 3X the legal limit drunk, was high on Meth, drove for over 35 miles THE WRONG WAY on 4 different freeways and had NO BUSINESS BEING IN THIS COUNTRY!!!

The Federal Government knew he, Raul Silva Corona , was an illegal immigrant when he was convicted on crimes in 1994 in Colorado. The prosecutors were "lenient" on him and several charges were dismissed. When he was convicted of these crimes and 1994 and the government knew he was in the country illegally, why wasn't he deported? Why are any of these illegal criminals in this country ??

I have attached numerous articles for you to read about my son. This was not a life that should have been taken so early. The good he was doing in our community is remarkable, the difference he made in people's lives is amazing and the comfort he brought people in friendship was unmeasurable.

Letting these illegal criminals out of our jails before their time is served and turning them loose on the streets to commit further crimes and KILL our loved ones is NOT ACCEPTABLE TO ME!! AND it shouldn't be acceptable to any US Citizen. Mr. President, you don't have the right to make this decision yourself.

I want laws to change that would not allow illegal immigrants to purchase vehicles in our country and register them to drive them in our states WITHOUT having driver's licenses to drive them legally. How is this happening??? I want laws changed that will force the removal of illegal immigrants who break our laws. This man, this repeated law breaker, was allowed to be released and he continued breaking the laws in our country until what???? UNTIL HE WAS STOPPED BY MY SON IN A HEAD ON COLLISION THAT NEVER SHOULD HAVE HAPPENED!!!! HE KILLED AN OFFICER OF THE LAW AS HIS LAST ACT!!! When are you going to see the flip side to this issue? When will you realize the hurt and pain and destruction these illegal immigrants who break the law will continue to cause???? Until you live in a state that deals with this on a daily basis, you will not understand it.

I want answers that make sense. I want answers from you personally as to why this criminal was allowed to stay in our country until he took my son's life.

Mrs. Mendoza: Don't hold your breath waiting for an answer. Your son's life isn't as important to Obama as the politics of supporting open borders. That's all he cares about. Also, readers should note that the reference to letting illegals convicted of crimes out of jail is a reaction to the news that the Obama Administration has been releasing illegals convicted of crimes from jail.

What Obama fails to understand is that there are consequences of promoting a policy of open borders. Sadly, this is one. The citizens of Mesa have lost more than just a Police Officer. He was a model citizen in every way. Instead of protecting his right to "life, liberty and happiness" Obama is protecting those who have no right to be here and instead break our laws to get here and do so again after arriving.

At some point isn't it fair to ask whose side Obama is on? That of American citizens or that of those who break our laws to come here illegally?
