Senator Kennedy Then and Now

Below, I posted more examples of Dem hypocrisy that Michelle Malkin dug up... But here's another one. And for the liberal reader who suggests that Republicans are the true hypocrite by opposing previous nominees, I would just add that yes... SOME nominees were TEMPORARILY held up in Committee but NONE were filibustered and without doing further research, I believe that nearly every single nominee eventually got their opportunity for a floor vote.

By any comparison you wish to make, there has NEVER been a systematic, long-term Republican obstruction of Democrat judicial appointees.

Sen. Ted Kennedy Then:

"The Constitution is clear that only individuals acceptable to both the President and the Senate should be confirmed. The President and the Senate do not always agree. But we should resolve these disagreements by voting on these nominees--yes or no." (Congressional Record, Jan. 28, 1998)

Sen. Ted Kennedy Now:
"But what has not ended is the resolution and the determination of the members of the United States Senate to continue to resist any Neanderthal that is nominated by this President of the United States for any . . . federal court in the United States." (CNN's "Inside Politics," Nov. 14, 2003)
