Senate Democrat Compares Our Troops to Nazis, Soviets, Pol Pot

During the presidential election campaign last year, Democrats went hooting around the country accusing Republicans of being "unpatriotic" and "unamerican" if we dared to question or critize their appeasing, defeatist, blame America stand on the war on terror.

After hearing the comparison that Senator Durbin (D-IL) made on the Senate floor between our troops and Nazis, Soviet gulags and genocidal butcher Pol Pot, I'd like to go on record and say that such outrageous statements are themselves unpatriotic and unamerican and Senator Durbin and any Democrat who says such things should be ashamed.

OpinionJournal - Best of the Web Today:
Senator Durbin:"If I read this to you and did not tell you that it was an FBI agent describing what Americans had done to prisoners in their control, you would most certainly believe this must have been done by Nazis, Soviets in their gulags, or some mad regime--Pol Pot or others--that had no concern for human beings. Sadly, that is not the case. This was the action of Americans in the treatment of their prisoners.

Opinion Journal: We are fighting an enemy that murdered 3,000 innocent people on American soil 3 1/2 years ago and would murder millions more if given the chance--and according to Dick Durbin, our soldiers are the Nazis."
