A lot has happened in a short period of time. Much of it is critically important to our understanding of the nature of the threat we face in this war. Let's see what sense we can make of it all.
The news from Britain continues to dominate the news. And now we're learning some of the details for what would have been a larger attack than September 11th. Hot Air has a roundup of the latest from Britain and does a great job of cutting to the heart of the matter.
What really made me stand up and take notice is that Time is reporting that the NSA terrorist monitoring program was a key element in uncovering the plot.
Hot Air also points us to an ABC News report that " the plot's trail leads to Pakistan's largest city, Karachi, where money for the plot was wired to London."
What part did the SWIFT program to track terrorist financing play in foiling this plot?
The Guardian reports that the final trigger on arrests was an intercepted message from Pakistan telling the bombers to "go now."
Readers won't need to be reminded how Democrats and the lamestream media led by the New York Times have either exposed or opposed many of the tools which were used to defeat this threat.
Bojinka II: Why You Care About Ramzi Yousef
A year ago I asked "Who is Ramzi Yousef ? and Why You Should Care." Yousef, who was the mastermind behind the 1993 World Trade Center attack also had plans to blow up American jetliners over the Pacific using liquid explosives. That plot was foiled when the chemicals he was brewing in an apartment in the Philippines caught fire.
Yousef, was an early Al Queda recruit along with his uncle and Al Queda Operations Chief, Khalid Shaikh Mohammed. Both men are currently in custody but apparently the Al Queda links to this type of terrorism remain active in Pakistan.
And let's not forget the story of Anne Jacobsen who witnessed what might have been a dry run of Syrians behaving suspiciously on a flight from Detroit to Los Angeles in 2004.
The Problem of Homegrown Terrorism
As you see from the photos in this post, there is a problem with homegrown terrorism in Britain and other western nations. With the news of the two Michigan men arrested in Ohio and admitting to terrorist activities, the problem is getting closer to home.
Both Hot Air and Michelle Malkin point to the Pew poll on the attitudes of Muslims in Europe. By an overwhelming degree, Muslims identify more according to their religion than as a citizen of a nation.
This really shouldn't surprise anyone as Muslims are being educated at their mosques to oppose their host governments and shun the society within which they live.
Freedom House and the Center for Religious Freedom has done an excellent job detailing how these attitudes are taught.
And of course we see in the photo at right, the lessons of Jihad begin early. These tots were photographed during the London protests in February. Also, Little Green Footballs has a slide show which documents the education of Islamic youth to the culture of hate and death which is jihad.
Always on Watch posts an excellent article about how the minds of young Muslims are being poisoned by Jihad. The parallels to another dark chapter in history are compelling.
Remember our questions about the Qana "massacre" and the possible stage managing of the event for the benefit of an unquestioning media? Bloggers kept asking who is this man who is always on the scene of such tragedies and always seems to be carrying a dead child for the benefit of the camera?
Well the cat is out of the bag. You Tube has a video from German television showing Mr. Green Helmet clearly stage managing the scene for photographers and grotesquely and repeatedly exposing the body of a dead child for the cameras.
EU Referendum, which first raised the issue and took enormous heat from the lamestream media machine that has been unmasked for participating in the scam demands a reply from the "news" professionals who sought to dismiss the questions raised.
Chicken Hawk Express, who along with Flopping Aces also links to the video , has portions of an interview that Green Helmet gave to the German magazine Stern. In it, he claims not to be a Hezbollah member (big surprise) and insists that there was no effort to stage manage the tragedy. It appears that the Muslim practice of "taqqiya" or lying for the sake of one's religion is alive and well.
Nobody who views the following video can conclude anything other than the bodies at Qana are being used for propaganda by the man who claims he is not working for Hezbollah (yeah, and I'm the Easter Bunny).
