Sunday's apparent bloody attack by Israel on a residential building in Qana housing apparently nearly all women and children (no rocket launchers or fighters found by reporters) continues to raise more questions than answers.
In my initial post following news of the attack, we were already aware that news organizations were brought to the scene many hours after the 1 AM attack by the Israeli Air Force. There have also been reports that the building did not collapse immediately following the bombing and that there were later explosions which brought it down killing many inside.Among others, Chicken Hawk Express and Flopping Aces have been updating comprehensive roundups of this story. Mentioned in both is this post from Israeli Insider which wonders "Hezbollywood? Evidence mounts that Qana collapse and deaths were staged."

Viewers can judge for themselves. But the accumulating evidence suggests another explanation for what happened at Kana. The scenario would be a setup in which the time between the initial Israeli bombing near the building and morning reports of its collapse would have been used to "plant" bodies killed in previous fighting -- reports in previous days indicated that nearby Tyre was used as a temporary morgue -- place them in the basement, and then engineer a "controlled demolition" to fake another Israeli attack.
The well-documented use by Palestinians of this kind of faked footage -- from the alleged shooting of Mohammed Dura in Gaza, scenes from Jenin of "dead" victims falling off gurneys and then climbing back on -- have merited the creation of a new film genre called "Palliwood."
There is increasing evidence that the Kana sequel is another episode in this genre, a variety which might be called Hezbollywood. The Hezbollah have evidently learned their craft well.
Israeli Insider reminds us of the phony Israeli Defense Forces shooting of 12 year old Palestinian boy Mohammed Dura (see here and here) and the blatantly untrue hysterical allegations of a "massacre" by Israeli forces at Jenin in the West Bank in 2002.
In Jenin, all kinds of wild claims were made. From thousands dead to five or six hundred. Later, organizations like Human Rights Watch determined the figure was closer to 22 civilians and 30 fighters. Israel lost 23 soldiers. Hardly a "disproportionate" response.
Palestinians went so far to play up the phony Jenin "massacre" as to stage fake funerals of victims. One of these was caught on video by an overhead Israeli drone. The "victim" is being carried on a stretcher when it suddenly falls off and runs away!
Just like the Jenin "massacre" and the Qana "massacre" initial news reports cause a firestorm of outrage around the world. The "useful idiots" on the left instantly accept the lie as truth. All I can say is "here we go again." A dispassionate analysis of events stands little chance against the images of dead children held up for cameras while the bodies of fighters are taken away before the media arrives.
Using Civilians as Shields is a War Crime
At Mike's America, we're still waiting for those who demanded Geneva Convention protection for the homicidal terrorists at the U.S. detention facility at Guantanamo to apply relevant Geneva Conventions to the "war crime" of using civilian residences to shield military activities like rocket launching. Other than one teensy, tepid declaration by one UN official, The silence thus far is deafening.
And just for reference, let's link to the video of Hamas fighters using UN marked ambulances to take uninjured fighters away from the scene of attacks against Israel.
An Enemy with a Veracity Deficit
The bottom line is that we are dealing with an Islamic enemy that has an obvious deficit for truth telling. And why not? After all, they're told by fanatic Muslim clerics that Allah instructs them to kill, subjugate and cheat infidels. What's the big deal about lying when you have carte blanche to do whatever to advance jihad?
