On the Road to Damascus with Neville Nancy

Much was made of the photo of Neville Nancy wearing a head scarf on her visit to Damascus last week.

Feminists, long part of the liberal Democrat coalition at the heart of the Democrats victory in 2006 were dismayed that Pelosi would allow a male dominated Muslim theocracy in Syria to dictate her dress code.

But what reporters accompanying Pelosi didn't see was her walk along the "road to Damascus" later as she looked for the peace that has eluded every Democrat and Republican President before her.

It only became clear that it was in fact Neville Nancy when she repeated the comic words of the previous week in her rebuke to President Bush: "there's a new Congress in town."
