Blair Out, Brown In as U.K. Prime Minister

Thank you Tony for being a good friend of the U.S.

Tony Blair and his family pose for photographs moments before he leaves Number 10 Downing Street and resigns as Prime Minister.

The Blair family arriving at Number 10 after Blair's election victory in 1997.

The government of the United Kingdom changed hands today. Story with more photos here.
It's an odd feeling after seeing Blair in power for a decade to see him go. It's not easy being British Prime Minister and such a good friend of the United States. But Blair realized what Winston Churchill coined as the "Special Relationship" between our two countries was vital to Britain and to us as well.

We'll miss you Tony. I'm reminded of the song from "My Fair Lady" adapted by Betty Johnson (audio here) "I've Grown Accustomed to His Face."
