In God We Trust: A Story of Faith, Family, Service and How Liberals Attempt to Subvert Them

A victory for common sense, but a warning for the future!

Here's a story that weaves together the traditional values of faith, family, flag and service to the country and illustrates how the left is working to subvert them:

Andrew LaRochelle, a 17 year old Ohio Boy Scout wanted to honor his grandfather on the night Andrew became an Eagle Scout. Andrew, (shown right accepting the "Angel Award" for volunteer service at Wright Patterson Air Force Base) wished to give his grandfather a flag flown over the U.S. Capitol with a certificate which read: "This flag was flown in honor of Marcel Larochelle, my grandfather, for his dedication and love of God, Country and family."

The Acting Architect of the Capitol, Stephen T. Ayers, censored "God" from the request.

Outrage led by House Republicans was swift. House Republican leader John Boehner, R-Ohio, wrote in a letter Wednesday to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., "has rightly drawn outrage from the American people, who have grown weary of endless attempts by politicians and bureaucrats to bar the word God and even the most tacit references to faith from our public institutions."O

On the Senate side of the Capitol, Senator Jim DeMint (R-SC) said he plans to introduce the Andrew Larochelle God, Family, and Country Act, to permanently allow the acknowledgement of God in all certificates that accompany flags flown over the United States Capitol

Obviously feeling the heat from this blundering display of religious intolerance, House Squeaker Nancy Pelosi instructed the Architect to revise the current policy and permit using the word "God" on the flag certificates.

I'm just surprised they haven't gone all the way and demanded we replace the U.S. flag with the UN flag!
