2008 Coolest Year of the 21st Century Thus Far

And not one of the global warming alarmists who claim to be able to predict temperatures 100 years from now saw it coming!

As bureaucrats and environmentalists continue their gathering in Poland to decide how best to enrich themselves by using global warming scaremongering some bad news:

This year is set to be the coolest since 2000, according to a preliminary estimate of global average temperature that is due to be released next week by the Met Office. The global average for 2008 should come in close to 14.3C, which is 0.14C below the average temperature for 2001-07.

The relatively chilly temperatures compared with recent years are not evidence that global warming is slowing however, say climate scientists at the Met Office. "Absolutely not," said Dr Peter Stott, the manager of understanding and attributing climate change at the Met Office's Hadley Centre. "If we are going to understand climate change we need to look at long-term trends."

Many alarmists predicted that 2007 would be the warmest year on record. It turned out to be cooler. And now, 2008 will be cooler still.

And yet the alarmists are still claiming that the models which failed to accurately predict this dip in temperatures a year ahead are somehow accurate decades into the future? Don't forget that these are the same folks who said that more intense hurricanes would be formed in 2006, 2007 and 2008 which were among the quietest hurricane seasons in decades.

These globaloney scientists are becoming a laughing stock!

The computer models global warming alarmists have used to predict doom and gloom have been repeatedly undermined by the actual scientific observations new technology like NASA's Aqua satellite which was launched specifically to create the hard data the alarmists insisted would prove their crackpot theories.

And yet policy makers like Obama (in yesterday's post) continue to proclaim that the sky is falling and we must radically change the way people live and create billions in new taxes for the goods and services Americans use every day.

It's clear that the science is NOT settled and the list of credible scientists who dispute the alarmists false predictions continues to grow.

Three Questions:

First: Will the envirozealots, bureaucrats and socialists who depend on the Great Global Warming Swindle (See the documentary here) as a funding source and power base bow to the coming reality that it's all been a giant fraud or will they continue to demand we totally remake our lives and hand over even more money and freedom just because they say so?

Second: If the alarmists do succeed in their plans for a new world economic order will they be held accountable for the monumental waste of resources once the fraud is exposed? Meanwhile, how many lives will have been lost to global poverty, disease and hunger? Real problems that could have been addressed, if the focus wasn't on globaloney.

Third: Is this a debate over global warming or global governance?
