Attacking the Tea Partiers seems easier than defending Obama Care!
Here, Charlie Rangel uses code language to equate Tea Partiers with the Ku Klux Klan:
Rangel's an old character and one I tend to cut some slack. But the above statement is truly despicable and only fans the flames of racebaiters on the left who will use it to attack Republicans.
It's interesting that Rangel made his statement on Wednesday when most Dems appear to be backing off the racebaiting they engaged in earlier. Rep. Emanuel Cleaver (D-MO)was one of the members of the Congressional Black Caucus who took the unusal route back to their Capitol Offices Saturday, March 20, as the House prepared to vote on the health bill. Armed with video cameras they made their way through the throngs of Tea Partiers who shouted "kill the bill." When the Congressmen couldn't document a racial incident, they made one up. Chief among those was the "spitting" on Rep. Cleaver that multiple videos reveal did not take place.
Cleaver's office jumped on the racist Tea Party bandwagon that same day with a statement that charged the Congressman had been spat upon and that also he was called the "n" word. Ten days later Cleaver was asked about the incident in a local television interview and repeatedly refused to discuss it:
With a Gallup poll showing that Americans properly place the lion's share of the blame for post vote racist incidents and violence on the Democrats it's no wonder Cleaver walked back his comments. But that makes Rangel's incendiary outburst all the more inflammatory.
