Don't Burn the Koran; Even Though It's Your Constitutional Right to Do So

It's just as wrong as the provocation of building a mosque at Ground Zero in New York!

The Dove World Church in Gainesville, Florida is praying about their plan to burn the Koran on Saturday, September 11, 2010, the ninth anniversary of the 9/11 attacks. I hope this means they have listened to respected military leaders like Gen. David Petraeus, who warned the provocative action may endanger U.S. troops in Afghanistan.

Even though it is within their Constitutional rights to do so, burning the Koran in this way is the wrong thing to do.

Funny though that some of the lefties who insisted plans to build a mosque at Ground Zero were a perfect expression of religious freedom are now saying the Koran burning should be condemned. Here's David Capehart writing at the Washington Post blog defending the mosque one day and condemning the plan to burn the Koran the next.

My position on these matters has been consistent. Building the mosque or burning the Koran may be constitutionally protected actions, but they are both WRONG and provocative.

I only wish the Mosque defenders would show the same level of consistency!
