First there are the 733 exemptions from Obama Care, including unions which backed Obama and curiously enough championed the same law they are now opting out of.
Now, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency is exempting a power plant project based on General Electric technology, from the same silly global warming rules that it will apply to the rest of the country further driving up costs and down supply.
Tim Carney, writing at the Washington Examiner thinks the whole thing stinks:
Maybe GE CEO Jeff Immelt's closeness to President Obama, and his broad support for Obama's agenda, had nothing to do with this exemption. But we have no way of knowing that, and given the administration's record of regularly misleading Americans regarding lobbyists, frankly, I wouldn't trust the White House if they told me there was no connection.Carney shouldn't be at all surprised by this. Remember that we have a President in office who expressed the idea during the 2008 mid term elections that it was perfectly fine to"punish our enemies and we're gonna reward our friends."
Thisn't this the same kind of corruption that is filling the streets of Egypt with protesters whose opinions Obama says must be respected? It may not be too long before mass protests in this country demand Obama's ouster from office. You think he'll respect the wishes of protesters when that happens?
