Perry Money Couldn't Buy the Love in Iowa

And it won't buy the love in SC either!

Derek Thompson at the Atlantic put together this chart comparing GOP candidate media spending in Iowa per vote attained.

Texas Governor Rick Perry spent more than three times the amount Mitt Romney did and ended up in 5th place. This should be conclusive proof that big spending is not enough to win (Obama should keep that in mind).

Perry's money might have been better spent on establishing stronger organization in key counties needed to win and investing more time in the kind of "meet and greet" politics that Santorum used to such good effect.

Perry is down here in South Carolina now and I do hope he has learned his lesson. Either that, or it's time for him to leave the race and encourage his would be voters to support other conservative alternatives to Romney!
