Royal Weddings may be glamorous, but there's only one annual event where the Queen actually puts on her crown and flowing robes and speaks to members of Parliament. The State Opening of Parliament is similar to the State of the Union speech in the United States with the major difference being that the speech is delivered by the Queen but written by Prime Minister and is much shorter and less dramatic.
