Is there anyone who thought they would?
Readers recall what we were told by the Obama Administration. Those entering the country illegally in the Southern Border invasion would be required to show up at local immigration offices to begin the process of assessing their claim to stay in the United States.
But now, the Immigration and Customs Enforcement Service (ICE) admits that 70% of those apprehended have not shown up as required. What a surprise!
Furthermore, only 14 of those deemed unworthy to stay in the U.S. have been deported despite orders for 860 to leave.
Frankly, there's no reason for any of these illegals to fear deportation or reporting to ICE. With a backlog of 400,000 cases in the Immigration Courts and no effort by the Obama Administration to expedite these proceedings it's unlikely that any of these illegals will be deported.
We are creating a new underclass in America with tens of thousands, perhaps more, illegals who speak little English, are uneducated and have few skills. The negative consequences that will have for our economy, our culture and already overloaded social services has yet to be seen!
