Before taking off for vacation in Hawaii here's what Obama said about the SONY hacking case:
"We cannot have a society in which some dictators someplace can start imposing censorship here in the United States because if somebody is able to intimidate us out of releasing a satirical movie, imagine what they start doing once they see a documentary that they don't like or news reports that they don't like," Obama said. "That's not who we are. That's not what America is about."Except of course when HE blamed a silly internet video critical of Muslims and said it had caused the attack on our compound in Benghazi killing four Americans including our Ambassador. Then he couldn't move fast enough to appease Muslims. Nakoula Basseley Nakoula, the man behind the video was arrested in the middle of the night and thrown in jail on trumped up charges. Is that "what America is about?"
One has to wonder if the North Koreans learned from that example that if they make demands like the pulling of the SONY film, The Interview, that Obama will cave. After all, Obama drew a red line in the sand over Syria's use of chemical weapons and backed down. He's not exactly known for standing up to dictators. Russia invading Crimea would be another example.
However you want to look at it the rising tide of challenges in foreign policy are mounting each month. Obama's inconsistent and wavering policy invites more trouble down the road!
