New Chief of Staff and New Communications Director Show Trump Serious About Managing White House and Message

A positive sign that incoming Chief of Staff Kelly intends to bring order to the White House!

President Trump (I still like hearing that) has been in office just six months. He's had a steep learning curve in the face of an overwhelming and implacable assault from Democrats who swore from DAY ONE to oppose him at every way in an effort to overturn the results of the election.

For Trump to succeed in the face of such unprecedented and in many ways illegal opposition he needs a team that is disciplined and can work at maximum effectiveness. Few would suggest that former Chief of Staff Reince Preibus or previous communications directors had met that requirement. Removing Communications Director Scaramucci after just ten days shows Trump is serious about finding the right mix.

The choice of General Kelly received high praise from bi-partisan sources including the New York Times and former Democrat Defense Secretary Leon Panetta who worked with Kelly at the Pentagon.

It will be a tough job for Kelly because ultimately he will have to manage the President who has shown he does things his own way. But it's a step in the right direction. Trump has been on a learning curve in the new job and these changes are proof that he understands the stakes!
