Trump Frame-up: Who is Bruce Ohr and Why Should You Care?

He may seem like a bit player but he's at the heart of the Trump put up job!

The Epoch Times did an incredible job laying out all the interconnections that brought about the Trump-Russia hoax. It's a mind boggling tangle of lies and liars but we are getting closer to the truth:

You'll notice Bruce and his wife Nellie Ohr in the lower left.  They have a direct connection to Christopher Steele, the former MI- 6 intelligence officer who compiled the infamous Trump dossier.

Bruce Ohr and wife Nellie.  Key players in the Trump frame-up.
Bruce was a high ranking Department of Justice official. He's been demoted twice since his role in this fraud became clear. Wife Nellie Ohr worked for Fusion GPS that funded Steele's nefarious activities with money from the Hillary Clinton campaign. According to the New York Times:
After Mr. Trump secured the nomination, Fusion GPS was hired on behalf of Mrs. Clinton’s campaign and the D.N.C. by their law firm, Perkins Coie, to compile research about Mr. Trump, his businesses and associates — including possible connections with Russia. It was at that point that Fusion GPS hired Mr. Steele, who has deep sourcing in Russia, to gather information.
Steele was also paid by the FBI. We don't know who set that up but NBC News reports that the payments ended after Steele leaked information to the news media. After which Steele was told he should not "obtain any intelligence whatsoever on behalf of the FBI."

But Steele did NOT stop feeding the FBI the fake info on Trump. He used Brue Ohr as a back channel and text messages between the two reveal he asked Ohr to get his access to the FBI and to Special Prosecutor Mueller restored. The two had ongoing contacts, nearly 70 in all. Some of which raise very interesting questions about what it is they were doing.

Here's one page of their exchanges from last October. More texts are here.

Again and again, Steele and Ohr were using Whatsapp calls for voice communication. Such calls are encrypted and not part of any record. Steele continued to pass information through Ohr to the FBI and his comments suggest that there was a wider plan to undermine Trump and hide their influence.  For instance, the "firewall" described below:

The congressional appearance was a reference to testimony by FBI Director James Comey on March 20.  In May Comey was fired.  Following that Ohr wrote a contemporaneous note saying Steele was "very concerned (abt) about [former FBI Director James] Comey's firing -- afraid they will be exposed."

Well, now they are exposed.  Not only did Ohr fail to file the required reporting about his wife's involvement, but Ohr was NEVER authorized to work on the Trump Russia case.

Ohr worked without authorization

Margot Cleveland at the Federalist reports:
Rosenstein was Ohr’s boss prior to his demotion, yet Rosenstein claims he knew nothing of Ohr’s involvement in the Russia investigation. Rosenstein declared to Congress in a letter reviewed by Solomon that he was “unaware of Ohr’s activities with Steele,” that Ohr was “not assigned” to the Russia investigation, and that Ohr “was not in the chain of command.” Rosenstein added, “Any involvement Mr. Ohr had in this matter was without my knowledge.”
In addition to Ohr's secret calls to Christopher Steele, he had secret meetings with Glenn Simpson who runs Fusion GPS. That is especially noteworthy because Simpson denied under oath in congressional hearings any contact with Ohr.

And it wasn't just the firing of Comey that left Steele and Ohr "exposed."  Texts after the firing of Obama Deputy Attorney General Sally Yates, who remained in place after the transition to the Trump Administration also caused concern.  Again from Margot Cleveland at the Federalist:
The day after Yate’s firing, Steele contacted Ohr, texting “doubtless a sad and crazy day for you re-SY,” a clear reference to Sally Yates. “Just wanted to check you are OK, still in situ and able to help locally as discussed, along with your Bureau colleagues,” Steele added. Then, after Ohr confirmed “I’m still here and able to help as discussed,” Steele stressed that if Ohr was out at DOJ, he needed another “(Bureau?)” contact. This exchange suggests Yates’ removal concerned Steele and left him worried that without Yates at the helm, Ohr’s continued role as a DOJ liaison for Steele was at risk, and that without Yates or Ohr, he would need to work directly with the FBI.
That note suggests that the back-channel to the FBI was directed by the highest level of the Department of Justice over the head of Rod Rosenstein.  A direct link back to Obama Administration holdovers. What was their role in the Trump frame-up?

How high up did that reach?  This report from NBC News may give the answer:

Ohr will appear before a closed door interview with a congressional committee on August 28.  No word yet on a public hearing.  It's clear he was a key player trying to fly below the radar. No longer.  He and Steele have been exposed and the firewall is in tatters!
