Dems Who Rushed to Judgement in #JussieSmollettHoax Suddenly Waiting for Facts Before Commenting as #HateHoax Unfolds

It hardly matters. The damage from the chorus of Trump haters has already been done. Sadly, there will be no accountability for those who promulgated a lie based on hate, race and gender!

When I first heard of the Jussie Smollett story I waited for more facts. It took weeks. Now we know.  But Democrats eager to make political hay based on an alleged racial/gender hate crime did not wait. They pounced immediately.  We've seen their tweets in the post below.

It's a sad commentary on the state of Democrat Party leaders when the average citizen like me can demonstrate more responsibility in an especially sensitive racial/gender issue than top Dem leaders and presidential candidates.

Speaker Pelosi deleted her tweet which said in part “The racist, homophobic attack on @JussieSmollett is an affront to our humanity.” Now, not such an affront. Other leaders like Kamala Harris who on January 29th when the story broke instantly tweeted "This was an attempted modern day lynching....We must confront this hate." Asked about this in New Hampshire Harris looked like she had never heard of the tweet. Watch this:

"Which tweet? What tweet?" Harris asked a reporter after one brought up the recent developments.

"About saying that it is a modern day lynching," the reporter said. Harris looked to her left for an unknown reason and laughed before facing the reporter again, who said, "Jussie Smollet."

"Um, uh, OK. So I will say this about that case," Harris said. "I think the facts are unfolding.
Later in another interview she doubled down on the "get the facts" routine "I think the facts are still rolling themselves out, so I don't actually know what happened." Too bad she didn't have the same attitude in her original rush to get on board the hate hoax blame Trump bandwagon.

Same for Sen. Cory (Spartacus) Booker. He also used the word "lynching" and now wants more information. I expect we'll hear some version of the delete and ignore or "no rush to judgment" from many of those who instantly rushed to judgment when the original story broke as they dive for cover.

Al Sharpton: Honest Al?

In the irony of all ironies, one of the few who seems to be taking the hate hoax repercussions seriously is Rev. Al Sharpton:
“I, among many others when hearing of the report, said that the reports were horrific and that we should come with all that we can come with in law enforcement to find out what happened and the guilty should suffer the maximum,” Sharpton said Sunday night on his show “PoliticsNation” on MSNBC.

“I still maintain that,” he continued. “And if it is that Smollett and these gentlemen did in some way perpetuate something that is not true, they ought to face accountability to the maximum.”
The Irony is that Sharpton himself refused to accept responsibility in fanning the flames of a race hoax in the case of Tawanna Brawley in 1987. He ruined the lives of wrongfully accused white men and then had his supporters pay off the eventual lawsuit. There are still people who believe that young Tawanna was raped by white men even though it was learned she made up the story so she could run off with her boyfriend and not get in trouble with her mother.

And what about the rest of the media? So many reported what Jussie Smollett told them without even bothering to find out if it was true. Their righteous indignation seen below isn't just embarrassing, it goes beyond media malpractice to active participation in promoting a lie that sought to divide America by race and gender based on hate. Listen as they describe their sadness that this could happen in America. Again, the irony is overwhelming. Sad yes, but because of what THEY did!

John Ziegler at Mediaite writes:
This is a fraud in which the mainstream news media might as well have been an unindicted co-conspirator. They, along with kindred spirits within the top ranks of the Democratic party, instantly went all in on supporting Smollett’s always implausible claim, subjecting it to basically zero scrutiny.
We've all seen the instant rush to judgment in hate hoaxes many times. There have been so many in recent years. The serial rape allegations in the Kavanaugh confirmation, "hands up don't shoot" in Ferguson Missouri, the Duke LaCrosse Players and a few weeks ago with Covington Catholic boys. The game plan is always the same. Any story which paints Trump supporters, Republicans or white people as racists must be true.

Facts don't matter. It's the lie that is important here, not truth. It's the corruption of the soul by those who perpetrate and promulgate these hoaxes on display for all to see. The responsibility for the damage this does to actual victims of hate crimes falls on the hoaxers and their accomplices. They are robbing deserving people from justice by their actions!
