Delay Gives Up Majority Leader Post

Here we go again. Another Republican volunteers to give up his leadership role because noise generated by trumped up and politically motivated charges gave the appearance of impropriety. The phony scandal generated by the Jack Abramoff guilty plea on fraud charges was the last straw.

Tom Delay officially gave up his right to reclaim the office of House MAJORITY Leader this afternoon.

Recent pressure from within the House GOP caucus in the wake of the phony Abramoff scandal may have led to his decision. Sadly, this news will only feed the beast of phony charges of GOP scandal.

• Where are the calls for Nancy Pelosi to resign her MINORITY Leader post in the House after being found guilty of violating Federal election finance laws?
• Where are the calls for Senate MINORITY Leader Harry Reid to resign his post after refusing to give back $68,941 he received from Abramoff and his Indian tribe clients, or the ethical questions regarding the MILLIONS his sons have made lobbying their father on legislation?
• Where are the calls for Hillary Clinton to resign from the Senate after her campaign was fined $35,000 and admitted receiving illegal contributions of approximately ONE MILLION DOLLARS for her Senate campaign?

While Republicans toss another effective leader under the bus, the shouts of "culture of corruption" and "GOP scandal" while continue to grow; feed by the same people who point at Republicans with one hand and have their other hand in the same cookie jar.

Republicans are cleaning their own house. Will Democrats follow suit or simply continue their transparent and hypocritical political hackery?

In the last few days at least 20 GOP members of the House of Representatives joined in an official call to elect a permament replacement to Tom Delay as Majority Leader. Can anyone NAME ONE DEMOCRAT IN THE HOUSE OFFICIALLY CALLING ON PELOSI TO STEP DOWN?

How about NAMING ONE DEM SENATOR CALLING ON HARRY REID TO STEP ASIDE WHILE CHARGES ARE INVESTIGATED?

Need any more proof that there is a real and substantial difference between the two parties and how seriously they take ethics?
