A Party of Transparent Hypocrites!

Don't you just love it? Another phony Washington political scandal! I'm talking about the Abramoff lobbying dollars issue. The "breaking news" du jour and the latest in a series of phony scandalmongering by Democrats who still have yet to offer any constructive or positive policy alternatives for our nation in a time of war.

But like the:

  • CBS National Guard phonies
  • The Downing Street Memo distortions
  • Abu Ghraib/Guantanamo Gulag Lies
  • The Joe Wilson/Valerie Plame CIA fraud
  • Lies about Lies on Iraqi WMD
  • Overt political prosecution of Tom Delay
  • NSA feigned outrage over spying on terrorists

It's transparent political hackery at it's worst and a sad commentary that a once proud political party has nothing else to offer. It's also evidence of a media strategy to bury good news about Iraq and the economy behind the usual smokescreen of scream headlines with their attendant distortion and disinformation.

But just as in the case of the above phony scandals, the moonbat corps is all a twitter.... Buzz, buzz, buzz.."Now were going to get the Repubs"..."This is it, the smoking gun".... blah, blah, blah!

I would probably not have ignored the story much longer. But since one of the resident moonbats assigned by the Politburo to monitor Mike's America brought it up in this comment stream, I advanced it on the roster.

It's amazing that Democrats would make so much noise about money given to Republicans by lobbyists when Forty of forty five members of the Democrat Senate Caucus took money from Jack Abramoff, his associates, and Indian tribe clients.

Funny how with one hand, Democrats are engaged in another round of one way fingerpointing while their other hand is deep into the same cookie jar!

Below is a breakdown of how much each Democrat Senator received:

And while Republicans are knocking each other over in a rush to give the money back or donate it to charity, Senate M I N O R I T Y Leader Harry Reid, the ethical conscience of the Senate, is KEEPING his $68,941 . And as conservative publications like the Wall Street Journal call for a thorough GOP housecleaning, where are the voices in Democrat opinion circles demanding the same from their side? Well, they're all too busy trying to cover their own asses and make distracting accusations towards Republicans.

We've been down this road before in the aftermath of the Clinton impeachment. Newt Gingrich resigned from Congress and his successor, Robert Livingston did the same after ethical questions were raised. They did so in part to set an example. For Democrats, the lesson learned was that Republicans can be rolled, and Clinton and his Democrat buddies continued riding the scandal train until his last day in office. Did we ever get that White House furniture returned? Or did the Clinton's pardon themselves at the last minute too?

When backed into a corner with the glaring evidence of their utter moral turpitutde, our Democrat friends (?) will shout "Well! Everyone does it!" To that I say PHOOEY! Republicans are always held to a higher standard. Rules for ethics and conduct were designed with only Republicans in mind and rarely apply to Democrats. Want an example? How about the political prosecution of Tom Delay for doing practically the SAME THING as Nancy Pelosi. Where are the criminal charges against Pelosi for violating Federal Election laws?

I refuse to accept any argument of moral eqivalence without a corresponding equivalence in the penalty for violating standards. I'll give a hoot about GOP wrongdoing when I hear ONE Democrat seriously pursue the more egregious abuses, ethical lapses and lawbreaking going on right under their nose in their own house. Until then, it's transparently obvious that this feigned outrage over a "GOP scandal" is nothing more than the unrelenting campaign of negativity and one way fingerpointing that permeates the Democrat Party.

Hillary Clinton Senate Campaign Guilty of Violating Fed Fundraising Law

Nancy Pelosi isn't the only Democrat to be guilty of violating federal law. When I hear Democrats demand the resignation of Hillary Clinton from the Senate, then I might listen to what they have to say about Tom Delay:

NewsMax: Hillary Clinton Campaign Acknowledges Violation

Hillary Clinton's 2000 Senate campaign committee likely violated the law when it underreported $1 million-plus in campaign contributions from Hollywood mogul Peter Paul, according to a four-year investigation by the Federal Election Commission.

The FEC found "there was probable cause to believe New York Senate 2000 and Andrew Grossman, in his official capacity as [the campaign's] treasurer, violated 2 U.S.S Sec 434(b) of the Federal Election Campaign Act of 1971 and 11 C.F.R. Sec 102(c)(8)(i)(A)."

"On December 13, 2005, a conciliation agreement signed by Andrew Grossman was accepted by the Commission," the FEC said.

Under the agreement worked out with the campaign, "New York Senate 2000" will pay a $35,000 fine and amend its public reports to show that Paul's share of production costs for a gala Aug. 13, 2000 Clinton fundraiser were understated by $721,895.
For more on that scandal see the blog of the man who was once the Clinton's friend and was hung out to dry over the whole matter of this fraud: Peter Paul "Chronicling Hillary Clinton Accountability For Election Fraud and Obstruction of Justice."

And for some strange reason, Democrats are silent on the evident ethical lapses so clearly displayed by the following chart:

Click on the chart above and read about Reid's CLAN OF CORRUPTION.... Every male member of the Reid family is making big bucks by selling Daddy's influence on legislation affecting Nevada. Talk about trading money for favors!

Just as I continually reposted the photo of the flooded buses in New Orleans during the one way fingerpointing at President Bush during post Katrina hysteria, I may have to repeat the above visual reminder on a regular basis until our Dem friends get their own house in order.

There is no "moral equivalence" when the scales of wrongdoing and accountability are so clearly out of balance.
