Anti-War Left Wing Comic Book Approved As Textbook in S.F. Schools

Welcome San Francisco Chronicle Readers. While you're here, drop on over to the main page and feel free to add your comments via the link at the bottom of each post.

Do you ever wonder how so many of our fellow citizens come to have such hate-filled, angry views regarding their own country? Well, they get taught to think that way and in many cases, it's being done in the public schools with YOUR tax dollars.

The following are examples of a "textbook" approved for use in San Francisco public schools. From "Addicted to War:"

Of course this "textbook" fails to mention that the U.S. won the Cold War without firing a shot, freed millions of people around the world from tyranny and ended the threat of a nuclear war with the Soviet Union. Wouldn't want to confuse the kiddies now would we?

They also fail to mention that the opposition to the Vietnam War resulted in the deaths of millions of South Vietnamese, Laotians and Cambodians after Democrats cut off funds to South Vietnam. Wouldn't want to bring that up again now would we?

And of course using Osama bin Laden's justification for the 9/11 attacks is nothing more than what these lefties have been saying for years. In fact, there's little difference in the tone, style and substance of the entire "textbook" between what the left says and what our enemies have been saying for years: "U.S. bad" with no mention of the alternatives.

Might as well issue each of the students a burka along with this "textbook." And don't expect the SF school system to permit anything approaching an opposing viewpoint to accompany this "teaching material."

What's next on the approved SF curricula? How about one of the comic books Hamas uses to teach Palestinian children to hate and mistrust Jews?
