Area lightning strike won't keep this blog down!
Last week late on Thursday, an intense thunderstorm moved through the Mike's America neighborhood sparking fires at nearby apartments and neighboring houses. The same storm knocked out the power supply to my computer. But this Friday, a replacement part arrived and after wrangling with the wires and putting the machine back together Mike's America is back online.
Even with a battery backup and surge protection, the strike was able to knock out the power supply. Let this be a reminder to others of the damage thunderstorms can do. The best prevention is to shut down and unplug computer hardware from the wall and also unplug the internet connection.
Computer meltdowns are just one of the risks and costs of computing. If you would like to make a contribution to upgrading the equipment that keeps Mike's America online, please click the safe and secure Pay Pal donation button in the sidebar.
Now, on with the show!
