GOP Gets Second Chance to Get it Right After Rep. McCarthy Withdraws from Speaker's Race

But question emerges.... was McCarthy sabotaged by someone in the Obama Administration?

I am pleased with the news that Rep. Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) withdrew from the race to become Speaker of the House. We need some housecleaning in Congress and that means we need a Speaker who isn't just another member of the same GOP establishment that has been so ineffective in countering Obama.

Rep. Paul Ryan (R-WI), Mitt Romney's running mate in the 2012 presidential election would be more than acceptable despite the fact that he's weak on immigration. At least he's only half beholden  to the establishment. Whether he can be persuaded to take that thankless job is another matter.

McCarthy's withdrawal shocked many. I'd like to believe it was a selfless act to bring the party together but a report from the Daily Caller raises serious questions regarding possible sabotage from someone at Obama's Department of Homeland Security alleging an affair between McCarthy and a female representative.

This comes on the heels of reports that the Secret Service leaked and distributed the private file of Rep. Jason Chaffetz (R-UT) another candidate for Speaker.

Sounds pretty much like the Chicago machine at work behind the scenes!

Despite all the dirty business, the unintended consequence of the saboteurs may be that it gives the GOP a second chance to get it right and elect a Speaker who will be more effective and actually counter Obama's unconstitutional actions. That would be the best revenge on the Chicago smear machine!
