In late July President Trump invited publisher of The New York Times, A.G. Sulzberger to the White House to discuss news coverage. Sulzberger later revealed that he lectured Trump "that his language was not just divisive but increasingly dangerous." Sulzberger complained specifically about Trump describing the multitude of inaccurate news reports as "fake news" and the obvious bias shown by certain journalists marking them as an "enemy of the people."
How ironic that Sulzberger would register this complaint just days after his newspaper ran an animated homophobic cartoon depicting Trump and Vladimir Putin as lovers. And speaking of dangerous divisiveness this is also the same New York Times that just hired a woman for it's editorial board who brags about hating white people and Republicans. This is what passes for civility at the New York Times:
And there are SO MANY MORE TWEETS... If a Republican spoke that way about minorities they would be fired. The New York Times defended this racist!
Chief enemy whiner: CNN's Jim Acosta
When it comes to whining about Trump's criticism of the media no one beats CNN's Jim Acosta. He attends Trump rallies and is shocked, SHOCKED that people don't like his negative and obnoxious reporting. Bad enough to read Acosta's whining but the response from Politico writer Mark Caputo explains why so many at Trump rallies don't share Acosta's high opinion of himself and his profession:
Larry O'Connor at the Washington Times reminds Acosta:
What Mr. Acosta doesn’t understand is that the anger and hostility and loathing he sees on the faces of Trump supporters in his video is a reflection of the same hostility they see on the faces of anchors, reporters, and analysts on his network. Not content to let it go, Acosta brought his special brand of bile to the White House Press Room on Thursday where he berated Press Secretary Sarah Sanders. Obviously Ms. Sanders had had enough. Her put down was perfect. Watch!
To date, there is not ONE credible case of where Trump supporters have been motivated to acts of violence against journalists. Contrast that with the planned massacre of GOP Congressmen which left House Whip Steve Scalise fighting for life. The perpetrator was a follower of the hate rhetoric he saw every day on CNN and MSNBC.
SANDERS: It’s ironic, Jim, that not only you and the media attack the president for his rhetoric when they frequently lower the level of conversation in this country. Repeatedly, repeatedly the media resorts to personal attacks without any content other than to incite anger. The media has attacked me personally on a number of occasions, including your own network, said I should be harassed as a life sentence. That I should be choked.
ICE officials are not welcomed in their place of worship and personal information is shared on the Internet. When I was hosted by the Correspondents Association, of which almost all of you are members of, you brought a comedian up to attack my appearance and called me a traitor to my own gender. In fact, as far as I know, I’m the first press secretary in the history of the United States that’s required Secret Service protection. The media continues to ratchet up the verbal assaults against the president and everyone in this administration, and certainly we have a role to play. But the media has a role to play for the discourse in this country as well.
It seems every week we see a new story of violence being directed at Trump supporters. Just today the news broke of a woman in Massachusetts who was so enraged by the Trump bumper sticker on the car in front of her that she rammed the driver. There's violence all right and it's coming entirely from the hate Trump crowd inspired by the hate Trump media.
Violence directed at Trump supporters began as a dirty tricks operation funded by Hillary Clinton. It's now morphed into a propaganda campaign by the left wing media. It's the most un-American activity you can think of. They truly are enemies of the people!
UPDATE: Media nearly silent when Fox News reporters physically attacked by Democrats, wiretapped by Obama Administration and harassed. The New York Times and CNN barely said a word!
