Oink, Oink, Oink Democrat Moran Promises Pork if Dems Control Congress

Need another reason to vote GOP this fall?

If Democrats win back control of the U.S. House of Representatives in November, U.S. Rep. Jim Moran said he would use his position in the majority to help
funnel more funds to his Northern Virginia district.

Moran, D-8th, told those attending the Arlington County Democratic Committee's annual Jefferson-Jackson Day dinner on June 9 that while he in theory might oppose the fiscal irresponsibility of “earmarks” - funneling money to projects in a member of Congress's district - he understands the value they have to constituents.

When I become chairman [of a House appropriations subcommittee], I'm going to earmark the shit out of it,” Moran buoyantly told a crowd of 450 attending the event.

Al Queda Names New Iraqi Leader, Jilted Al Masri Demands Recount!

The news that al-Muhajer was selected to succeed Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, who was killed Wednesday by a U.S. airstrike on his hideout northeast of Baghdad, Iraq, came as welcome news to some Iraqi Jihadists.

But not all!

The leading candidate before yesterday's vote, Abu Ayyub al-Masri, who had been predicted to win by Al Jazeera exit polling screamed foul! "There were significant irregularities in the voting in a number of provinces," claimed al-Masri. He went on to say that "many of the older Jihadis may have been confused by our similar sounding names."

In a further move designed to highlight the possibility of voter fraud al-Masri added: "We know that the voting machines used were stolen from a Halliburton warehouse near Baghdad. Apparently they were surplus voting machines manufactured by Diebold, an American company, and last used in Ohio during the 2004 presidential election."

Al-Masri went on to say that "It's also a distinct possibility that the rigging of these machines to favor al-Muhajer was part of a Bush Administration Psy-Ops program to steal the election in favor of their CIA backed candidate."

The group backing al-Masri has filed an immediate injunction with the Jihad council to seal all records in preparation for legal moves demanding a recount.

Al-Masri also indicated that many of the absentee ballots of Jihadis in the field were illegally disqualified and that Jihadis of African origin were dissuaded from voting by the presence of Arab Imams at polling places. In addition, "Our dark skinned brothers were handed fliers saying that the voting day for those of African origin was next week" said al-Masri.

Al-Masri demanded that: "Should a revote be necessary, we need to have outside observers favorable to our democratic cause. Former US President Jimmy Carter, who has experience with this in Venezuela, as well as the friend of Jihadis everywhere: Cindy Sheehan, should be called in to assure the result reflects the will of the Jihadis."

British Special Forces to Use Batman Flying Suits

I thought I had logged onto a parody site when I saw this:

Special forces to use strap-on 'Batwings' in the U.K. Daily Mail.

I mean really! This has to be a joke! Or is it?

Italian Embassy in DC Shows Support for US Injured Soldiers

Many readers may already be aware of the story of Fran O'Briens restaurant in Washington DC where meals were provided free to injured and recovering soldiers from nearby Walter Reed Army Hospital. O'Briens was forced to close when the landlord, Hilton Hotels, refused to renew their lease.

Conservative Intelligence Report has the story that the Italian Embassy in Washington heard the news and the Ambassador extended the courtesy of his embassy and staff, most importantly the cuisine of his very own chef, to treat many of the soldiers and their families who have now been denied the comfort and camaraderie at O'Briens.

Go read the story at C.I.R. It's one of those good news stories that we will never see in the lamestream media. And while you are visiting C.I.R. please check out the comments section for this post. Instead of joining in to the spirit of this story, one of those anonymouse lefty losers pissed all over the comments section with the usual trash that they pretend is a substitute for a meaningful discussion.

There is no doubt that the mindset displayed by this raving fool is depriving the nation of the unity we need to be more effective in the War on Terror. And is likely costing American lives by encouraging our enemies.

3 Terrorists Commit Suicide at Gitmo

Allah be praised! Three more scum, no doubt despondent over the loss of al-Zarqawi succeeded in committing suicide at Club Gitmo today!

That's the first deaths reported at the camp, which has been holding terrorists for over four years.

Democrats like Senator Durbin, a year ago compared our facility at Guantanamo Bay to "Nazis, Soviets in their gulags, or some mad regime--Pol Pot or others--that had no concern for human beings."

Yet in four years these are the first deaths at Gitmo. Nazis, Soviet Gulags and Pol Pot managed to kill millions in the same period of time.

A Week of Victories!

A solid week of good news.

A solid week of victory is a reminder of the leadership and sacrifice that made it possible. None of it would have happened without the leadership of President Bush or the bravery, sacrifice and dedication of our troops and law enforcement.

Victory is a great thing. Certainly better than the alternative. But it cannot occur without leadership, dedication and sacrifice.

Keep that in mind next time the going gets tough!

Zarqawi's Last Words

With the news that Zarqawi mumbled some last words before US troops gave him the Red, White and Blue sendoff to hell, everyone is wondering what those words might have been?

Apologies for being such a brutal monster? doubtful.

Here are a few ideas:

"But the posters at Democrats Underground said this was all a photo op?"
"What about my human rights?"
"Vote for Hillary"
"Where's Congressman Murtha when you need him?"
"Get me an ACLU Lawyer"
"Was that a Jooo bomb?"

You get the idea. Readers are welcome to make their own suggestions in the comment section.

And I knew if I picked on Sparks from the Anvil for being late to the party, Wordsmith would come through with a few last minute gifts. See his post here.

Forgive me for the shameless ripoff of his graphic, but I couldn't resist.

My favorite for the monster Zaraqawi's last words is: "THESE ARE THE VIRGINS?"

At this point Zarqawi realized that he was actually IN HELL!

Get it? "Pair O' Dice?"Thanks Michael Churchill for the above contribution. Full size image here.

Good Work Troops!

I've added this flash presentation to the sidebar video favorites. By now, most readers have seen it.

But yesterday's fantastic work in Iraq reminds us of the sacrifice our brave troops endure day in and day out for years.

All that effort made yesterday's great victory possible.

Take a moment. Remember and then say "thank you."

A Great Victory in the War on Terror

Happy Dead Zarqawi Day! A phrase heard on talk radio and also on blogs like Flopping Aces.

A Rose by Any Other Name echoes another theme from the "Wizard of Oz:" "Ding Dong the Witch is Dead." Let's remember these words from that song "[He']s gone where the goblins go, Below - below - below."

Elmer's Brother announces that "The World Celebrates Zarqawi's Death" and links to the following Video from Hot Air. Turn up the sound, watch, listen and ENJOY!

Some news reports suggest that perhaps Zarqawi may have still been alive when US troops arrived. Let's hope he had a good chance to see the faces of our troops before he went straight to hell.

All those who work for true peace, accompanied by freedom and justice can rejoice that this monster is no longer walking the earth. It's a great day for justice!

Statements by President Bush, Prime Minister Blair:

President Bush's statement, from White House transcript:

THE PRESIDENT: ... Zarqawi was the operational commander of the terrorist movement in Iraq.... Osama bin Laden called this Jordanian terrorist "the prince of al Qaeda in Iraq."...

On behalf of all Americans, I congratulate our troops on this remarkable achievement.
...
Zarqawi's death is a severe blow to al Qaeda. It's a victory in the global war on terror, and it is an opportunity for Iraq's new government to turn the tide of this struggle.

Prime Minister Blair from Number 10 transcript:

I would like to start by paying tribute to the new Iraqi government and to its Prime Minister, to the US, the UK and other allied forces, including those of Iraq, and to the intelligence services that are working so hard to allow the Iraqi people what they so clearly want and have voted for - democracy and the chance to prosper in the future, to escape both from the past legacy of Saddam and the present evil of terrorism.
...
The death of al-Zarqawi is a strike against Al Qaeda in Iraq, and therefore a strike against Al Qaeda everywhere. But we should have no illusions. We know that they will continue to kill, we know that there are many, many obstacles to overcome. But they also know that our determination to defeat them is total.
...
Their attack in Iraq has only ever been part of a wider attack that they have carried into conflicts and countries the world over, indeed there is barely a major nation in the world that has not felt the outreach of their evil. So defeat them in Iraq and we will defeat them everywhere.

Zarqawi was the third most wanted man in the global war on terror, but one's whose death is perhaps more important even than that of Osama bin Laden, or his deputy Zawahiri, whose activities have mainly been limited to sending out tapes from a cave in Pakistan.

Zarqawi personally beheaded his captives, which we witnessed in one instance with the video showing him slowly sawing off the head of a screaming Nick Berg. He intentionally directed bombings at innocent men, women and children and sought to incite and inflame sectarian violence that would cast Iraq into the abyss of civil war.

It's reported that his style, as compared to bin Laden and Zawahiri inspired young homegrown "Jihad Johnnies" like the gang in Toronto which planned, among other atrocities, to behead the Canadian Prime Minister.

His demise is without a doubt the greatest victory in the war since the fall of Baghdad and the subsequent capture of Saddam.

Iraqis Rejoice!

Knowing that another
dark chapter in their sorrow-filled history is passed, Iraqis, like the old woman at right took to the streets to celebrate.

Reporting from Baghdad, Tim Worstall sums up the feelings of many this way: "A Shia friend may have said it best, “Zarqawi would not listen to ballots, today there is no mistaking that he listened to the bombs.”

Jihadists Call For Revenge

Not all Muslims share the democratic impulse described above. The Jihad community, represented here by Global War praises the martyrdom of Zarqawi.

Perhaps by way of response, Stuck on Stupid wishes that all of Zarqawi's virgins resemble White House reporter Helen Thomas.

American Reaction Hopeful, but Mixed

Andrew McCarthy writing at National Review Online calls Zarqawi's death:

A Crucial Moment...Simply stated, the killing of Abu Musab Zarqawi by U.S. forces in Iraq is more vital to ultimate success in the war on terror than would be snuffing out any other terrorist alive right now. Period.
...

It is a mission our brave men and women—again, the real American military—perform brilliantly, day in and day out, despite lethal danger to themselves and immense pressure to perform flawlessly. Yet, what we hear about back home is Abu Ghraib. What we hear about is Haditha—as to which the anti-war champion of the current fifteen minutes, Congressman Jack Murtha, is poised to accord our Marines a lot less due process than he and other members are extending to their radioactive colleague, Rep. William Jefferson.

But among the celebration and hope, those sour notes from Democrats who just can't bring themselves to be happy when good news comes along. Instapundit has a great set of links including this note by Tim Graham in "The Corner" at National Review:

It's sad that within minutes of announcing Abu Musab al-Zarqawi's death, the network morning shows were already carrying criticism of the Bush administration. Not only did NBC invite Sen. Joe Biden so he could attack Bush incompetence (funny day for that!), ABC's Bill Weir reminded the audience that Zarqawi beheaded American Nicholas Berg, and then replayed Berg's left-wing dad saying at the time that he had no desire for his son's killers to be killed. Weir then reported that he spoke to Berg's father this morning, and he condemned the Zarqawi killing as part of an endless cycle of retribution.

And it seems that some elected Democrats just cannot help themselves. A report in The Washington Times includes the following:

"This is just to cover Bush's [rear] so he doesn't have to answer" for Iraqi civilians being killed by the U.S. military and his own sagging poll numbers, said Rep. Pete Stark, California Democrat. "Iraq is still a mess -- get out."
Rep. Dennis J. Kucinich, Ohio Democrat, said Zarqawi was a small part of "a growing anti-American insurgency" and that it's time to get out.
"We're there for all the wrong reasons," Mr. Kucinich said.

Of course that's mild compared to some of the left wing lunacy we see elsewhere. Pajamas Media has an excellent wrap up of the entire story, including this nugget of Dem insanity reported by Michael Crowley in "The Plank" from The New Republic:
Wow. On the one hand there's Joe Biden. On the other, there's the guy who called into the "Diane Rehm Show" this morning and choked up with tears as he recounted, "I woke up this morning and learned my country had dropped a bomb on someone's head...." Meanwhile another caller wanted to know how many innocent civilians had been killed in the raid (not an unreasonable question, I hasten to add--but this caller, too, displayed roughly zero enthusiasm for Zarqawi's demise).
And the loony left's reaction goes downhill from there with the contributions from the nit-wit brigade of Kos Kids. I refuse to dig too deep into that sewer of socialism and defeat, but the common thought seems to be that this is probably an effort to raise Bush's poll numbers. The ever hopeful among them expect Karl Rove to be indicted tomorrow (so much disappointment on that score thus far) and that this is just a ploy to distract from that. And they seem eager, as one commenter implored, to "keep your eyes on the prize." The "prize" for these "Americans" is the propaganda value of the alleged Haditha massacre by Marines.

Pretty sick bunch. The "prize" is a massacre? Few of them seemed to give a hoot about the massacres that Zarqawi bragged openly about.

But let's leave bitter and hatefilled lefties to their dark worlds of defeat. The way they are acting you would think something really bad had happened, like, oh, I don't know... LOST A COUPLE OF ELECTIONS!

Numbers Don't Lie: Dem Spin on California Congressional Election is BUNK!

Google's Blogger service, or "Booger" as it's otherwise known, was offline most of the day, but here's the dish, even if served cold:

I'm putting on my political analyst hat today.

Democrats put alot of work and money into the effort to take the 50th Congressional district seat formerly held by the now imprisoned Republican Duke Cunnigham. Close, but no cigar fellas!

Frankly, they did not expect to win the runoff which was required after the April 11, special election failed to give any candidate a majority. After all, Cunnigham won the district with 58% of the vote in the newly created district in 2004 with Francine Busby garnering 36% (105,590 votes) in that previous race.

But Dems must have gotten excited when Busby captured 44% (60,010) in the April election (official results here). Even though the total percentage of votes cast for GOP candidates was 53% Her nearest rival, Bilbray, only captured 15% (20,952), nearly one third of Busby's strength.

The turnout for the April special election was: 38.86% of registered voters with 137,529 total ballots cast.

Both parties pulled out all the stops, spending millions to influence the race. And Busby had a strong final showing of 45.46% compared to Bilbray's 49.33% (official tally here). That's a 9% shift from the 2004 result.

Interesting that even though Democrats pulled out all the stops, and California was conducting a statewide primary on the same day, the turnout for this race was LOWER than the special election: 35.42% with 125,882 ballots cast.

And Busby, actually got 4,423 FEWER votes than she did in the Aprill 11th contest!

It must be disheartening to Democrats, that in a head to head contest with a relatively weak opponent, their own candidate cannot build upon the strength of previous efforts to win. And it's amusing to watch Dems spin this until they get dizzy.

Seems we on the GOP side seem to worry a great deal about motivating a strong turnout for 2006. But who would have thought Dems would have a BIGGER turnout problem?

Congressman Patrick Kennedy: I'm BLACK!

From the New York Daily News:

Fresh from rehab, Rep. Patrick Kennedy said yesterday he wants to be treated like an African-American from Washington if and when he gets charged for crashing his car on Capitol Hill.

Denying that he was drunk and or that he asked the Capitol Police for preferential treatment, Kennedy, a Rhode Island congressman, said he's prepared "in terms of bookings, in terms of mug shots, fingerprints, whatever they might have me do."

"It's what anyone else would have done to them if they were an African-American in Anacostia," Kennedy said in a shaky voice, referring to the mostly minority neighborhood in southeastern Washington.

Later, Kennedy fretted that "there are probably people who want to throw the book at me a little more to prove that they're not treating me special."

It's still not clear whether Kennedy will be called to account for smashing his Ford Mustang into a barrier near the Capitol building at 2:45 a.m. on May 4. He was driving without headlights and nearly collided with a police cruiser.

Perhaps Kennedy wants the same treatment Cynthia "Slap Happy" McKinney is getting!

Now, if only Congressman "Cold Cash" Jefferson will come forward and play the race card trifecta!
