The Biggest Lie Ever Told by Any President in History. PERIOD!

President Obama Weekly Address August 22, 2009: “I want to spend a few minutes debunking some of the more outrageous myths circulating on the internet, on cable TV, and repeated at some town halls across this country… As I’ve said from the beginning, under the reform we seek, if you like your doctor, you can keep your doctor. If you like your private health insurance plan, you can keep your plan. Period.”

Note also that the White House went out of it's way to attack opponents of ObamaCare and delegitimize their views. They went so far as to set up a special White House email account and asked people to forward suspicious or "fishy" claims about ObamaCare. In a post titled "Facts are Stubborn Things" which still remains on the White House web site Linda Douglas, the Communications Director for ObamaCare in the White House said that opponents probably won't show you the video clip in which Obama emphatically makes the above promise at yet another event. See for yourself in this short clip from the White House You Tube account:

Ms. Douglas said that "one of her jobs was to keep track of the disinformation that's out there" about ObamaCare. Too bad she didn't spend more time fact checking what her boss was saying. Yes Linda, facts are indeed stubborn things!

On the same day Obama lied to the American people in his August 22, 2009 Weekly Address, The Republican response was delivered by Rep. Tom Price, a doctor from Georgia and a leader on GOP health issues: "For starters, within five years, every health care plan will have to meet a new federal definition for coverage – one that your current plan might not match, even if you like it.”

Who is right? Obama or the Republicans?

Obama lied, American's health care policies died!

Worried Democrats Pile on the ObamaCare Train Wreck

ObamaCare defenders are few and hopelessly deluded by their partisanship!

First we heard the cry from the few ObamaCare defenders that the criticisms of this disaster are coming from center right news organizations like Fox News. We've illustrated how wrong that claim was with stories in the New York Times and left of center news outlets across the country.

Now, there's a shift to claiming that the people complaining about ObamaCare, even in these liberal outlets, are mostly conservatives. Again, easily proven false.

Let's remember that it was Senator Max Baucus (D-MT) who predicted in April that ObamaCare would be a "huge train wreck." More recently "the rollout has been a disaster," Sen. Jeanne Shaheen, D-N.H., remarked Sunday on "Face the Nation."

But that's not all.
Obama Takes Friendly Fire
An ally of the president begins to panic over Obamacare fallout.

National Journal
Incoming from Democrats:

"Dem Party is F****d." That was the subject line of an email sent to me Sunday by a senior Democratic consultant with strong ties to the White House and Capitol Hill. The body of the email contained a link to this Los Angeles Times story about Obamacare "sticker shock:"

"These middle-class consumers are staring at hefty increases on their insurance bills as the overhaul remakes the healthcare market. Their rates are rising in large part to help offset the higher costs of covering sicker, poorer people who have been shut out of the system for years."

"Although recent criticism of the healthcare law has focused on website glitches and early enrollment snags, experts say sharp price increases for individual policies have the greatest potential to erode public support for President Obama's signature legislation."

In his story, reporter Chad Terhune also quoted a letter sent to a California insurance company executive. "I was all for Obamacare," wrote a young woman complaining about a 50 percent rate hike related to the health care law, "until I found out I was paying for it."

Also of interest to the Democratic consultant: A Josh Barro column on Obama's promise that "if you like your health plan, you can keep your health plan." It was never a reasonable pledge, Barro argues, and it's being proven false. He called this "a good thing" because "a lot of existing health plans were bad." Reforming the nation's health care system "was necessarily going to have to change a lot of people's health plans," Barro wrote.

The Democratic consultant said none of this is news to him, but he wonders why Obama wasn't honest with Americans. He predicted surprise and outrage over higher costs and lesser coverage. "We will own this problem forever," the Democrat wrote.
I heard an ObamaCare defender on one news program (can't recall the name) echo a sentiment similar to Barro who said that the policies which are being dropped are inferior as if the government knows better when it requires senior citizens to pay for maternity coverage and birth control.

Next I found this gem from the Chicago Sun Times:
Sue Klinkhamer has a problem.

It’s called Obamacare.

And the irony of her situation is not lost on her. In a recent email addressed to her former boss, Illinois Congressman Bill Foster, and other Democratic colleagues, she wrote:

“I spent two years defending Obamacare. I had constituents scream at me, spit at me and call me names that I can’t put in print. The congressman was not re-elected in 2010 mainly because of the anti-Obamacare anger. When the congressman was not re-elected, I also (along with the rest of our staff) lost my job. I was upset that because of the health care issue, I didn’t have a job anymore but still defended Obamacare because it would make health care available to everyone at, what I assumed, would be an affordable price. I have now learned that I was wrong. Very wrong.”

For Klinkhamer, 60, President Obama’s oft-repeated words ring in her ears: “If you like your health plan, you will keep it.”

Well, possibly not.

When Klinkhamer lost her congressional job, she had to buy an individual policy on the open market.

Three years ago, it was $225 a month with a $2,500 deductible. Each year it went up a little to, as of Sept. 1, $291 with a $3,500 deductible. Then, a few weeks ago, she got a letter.

“Blue Cross,” she said, “stated my current coverage would expire on Dec. 31, and here are my options: I can have a plan with similar benefits for $647.12 [or] I can have a plan with similar [but higher] pricing for $322.32 but with a $6,500 deductible.”

She went on, “Blue Cross also tells me that if I don’t pick one of the options, they will just assume I want the one for $647. ... Someone please tell me why my premium in January will be $356 more than in December?”
It may soon become clear that among the loudest critics of ObamaCare are Democrats who will either pay a huge political price for their support or are truly shocked at the massive fraud which has been perpetrated on them along with the rest of the American people. Obama's ObamaCare promises may go down in history as the greatest con job of all time!

ObamaCare has become a laughingstock. Here's the opener for the October 26 Saturday Night Live:

Benghazi Eyewitness Speaks on 60 Minutes

U.S. officials knew an attack was planned and imminent. So why the lie about the video and a protest?

If you didn't have the opportunity to watch Lara Logan's report on 60 Minutes, take a moment:

"We're here to kill Americans"

It was a planned and coordinated attack carried out by experienced forces. And as those in the report describe, we still don't know why the Obama Administration refused to take warnings about security seriously and why no help was sent. But we do know why the Obama Administration lied about a You Tube video being the cause of a protest gone bad. Democrats accused Republicans of playing politics by asking questions because it was politics that was at the heart of the Democrat deception before the 2012 presidential election where Obama's competence might have been brought into question. What a shame we didn't have that debate as it would have saved us so much trouble later.

ObamaCare: After Web Site Fix the Train Wreck Will Continue, Perhaps Accelerate

This isn't just about a bad web site. It's about a bad idea and can only get worse!

A friend of mine who voted for Obama told me months ago that most of the American public didn't care about the Benghazi attack that left four Americans, including our Ambassador dead in Libya over a year ago. According to him the attack was something that happened a long way away from the lives of most Americans. It was bad, but it didn't effect their lives.

The ObamaCare disaster is different. Millions of Americans are getting letters in the mail telling them that the health insurance they've had for years no longer mets the requirements of ObamaCare. Their options are limited to signing up for plans that cost more and have much higher deductibles. They heard Obama's repeated promise "if you like your plan you can keep it. Period!" and feel betrayed. I've posted excerpts from many of these stories and no doubt will continue to do so.

This isn't just something happening to a few Americans or in an isolated pocket of society, it's widespread with special pain for middle class families that Obama repeatedly claims to care most about. Peggy Noonan describes the scope of the political problem for Obama this way:
We should not lose The Headline in the day-to-day headlines. This is big history, not small. The ObamaCare rollout is a disaster for the White House, not a problem or a challenge or an embarrassment, not a gaffe or a bad few weeks. It is a political disaster, and the only question is whether it is partially recoverable, meaning the system can be made to work in a generally satisfactory way in the next few weeks. But—it has to be repeated—they had 3½ years after passage of the Affordable Care Act to make the program into something the American people could register for and feel they were benefiting from. Three and a half years! They had a long-declared start date: It would all go live Oct. 1, 2013, and everyone in the government, every contractor and consultant, knew it.

The president put the meaning of his presidency into the program—it informally carries his name, it is his brand. It was unveiled with great fanfare, and it didn't work. For almost anybody. Crashed systems, frozen screens, phone registration that prompted you back to the site that sent you to the 800 number, like a high-tech Möbius strip.
...
And there is the enduring mystery of why the president, who in his career has attempted to persuade the American people to have greater faith in and reliance on the federal government's ability to help, continues to go forward with an astounding lack of interest in the reputation of government.

He talks but he doesn't implement, never makes it work. He allows the IRS under his watch to be humiliated by scandal, waste, ill judgements prompted by ideological assumptions. He allows his signature program, the one that will make his name in the history books, to debut in failure. In response he says bland, rounded words that leave you wondering what just got said.
Peggy goes on to ask whether Sebelius and top people at the Department of Health and Human Services knew about the web site's problems. If so, did they tell the White House? And if top officials knew about this train wreck waiting to happen why did they let the plan go forward? Was that a political decision? Who made it? There's another point here too. Was Obama just too busy campaigning and bashing Republicans to actually manage this key program?

In the Washington Post Ezra Klein has a very critical and detailed column about the problems with the web site, the press reporting and future problems for ObamaCare. Klein is fair minded but certainly from the left. For a liberal Administration, if you've lost Klein, you are in trouble.
Sorry liberals, Obamacare’s problems go much deeper than the Web site
By Ezra Klein, Published: October 25
Washington Post

There's been a rash of commentary from some on the left who've decided that the real problem with Obamacare isn't the crippling technological issues that have made it impossible for almost anyone to enroll in the federally run health-insurance exchanges but the media's coverage of those problems.

It's not the crime, it's the lack of a cover-up.
...
A failure in the press coverage of the health-care exchange's rocky launch has been in allowing people to believe that the problem is a glitchy Web site. This is a failure of language: "The Web site" has become a confusing stand-in phrase for any problem relating to the law's underlying infrastructure. No one has a very good word to describe everything that infrastructure encompasses.

In brick-and-mortar terms, it's the road that leads to the store, the store itself, the payment systems between the store and the government and the manufacturers, the computer system the manufacturers use to fill the orders, the trucks that carry the the product back to the store, the loading dock where the customers pick up the products, and so on. It's the problems in that infrastructure -- indeed, much more than "just a Web site" -- that pose such deep problems for the law.
To summarize the danger as Klein sees it: even when the web site is fixed and people are able to log on many who are healthy and don't especially need insurance will rebel at premiums and deductibles that are higher than their current plans and opt to wait. If they get sick, they can always sign up then. That leaves a much smaller pool comprised of sicker individuals which means that in subsequent years the costs of the policies will rise even higher. That's the death spiral for ObamaCare.

These problems will only get worse when the employer mandate extension expires and millions more are dumped into this mess. ObamaCare has taken a health insurance system that worked reasonably well for most people and is turning it into a system where the majority will be at a distinct disadvantage compared to their previous coverage. And since this is not something happening far away from home, but effects millions of Americans, they will know who to blame and it's not the Republicans!

MEDIA WATCH:

Just a few more stories to add to the list:
  • On MSNBC, NBC's David Gregory from Meet the Press described the ObamaCare rollout as a “caricature of incompetence.” Like Klein above, if you've lost David Gregory you are in trouble!
  • At Business Insider, ObamaCare backer Josh Barrow participated in a conference call with the HHS office responsible for overseeing the web site and other programs. His concern is that we are not getting the full story of what went wrong and how it might be fixed:
There’s no reason not to level with the public right now, unless the truth is so horrible and the website is so un-fixable that Obama administration officials can’t bring themselves to discuss the matter publicly.
  •  CBS News ran a report of a California woman whose story is typical of millions nationwide.“I was completely happy with the insurance I had before,” she said. now:
“Before I had a plan that I had a $1,500 deductible,” she said. “I paid $199 dollars a month. The most similar plan that I would have available to me would be $278 a month. My deductible would be $6,500 dollars, and all of my care after that point would only be covered 70 percent.”
Ed Morrissey summarizes: Do the math here. Willes will have to pay $948 more a year for the new policy, but that’s not all. She will also have to another $5,000 extra on top of that to get past the deductible each year before she gets any benefit from the policy at all. If she’s reasonably healthy, all of her medical costs will get paid straight out of her pocket, on top of her insurance policy costs which will now total $3,336, or almost a cool $10,000 after the deductible before she sees any benefit at all.
  • Highlighting the financial collapse issue, another huge problem for ObamaCare is that the majority of people who are able to enroll are signing up for Medicaid, not ObamaCare. If that trend holds, the death spiral for ObamaCare will accelerate.

ObamaCare Train Wreck Undeniable; 16 Million to LOSE Current Coverage

Now even Democrats are starting to bail out!

Just a few weeks ago Obama and top elected Democrats were calling Republicans terrorists and hostage takers who, Obama claimed. wanted to "put a gun to the head of the American people." So much for civility hunh? All that sound and fury because Republicans wanted to spare the American people from enduring the nightmare that is ObamaCare. Even after Republicans gave up trying to defund ObamaCare and simply asked that individuals be granted the same one year extension as big business, Obama refused.

Obama and the Dems claimed ObamaCare was "settled law" and could not be changed. Not that settled law like immigration statutes has ever stopped Obama from ignoring it or demanding it be rewritten.  But now, Dems in both the House and Senate (1,2) are having second thoughts and a growing number are endorsing some form of delay in the individual mandate which would require a legislative change to this supposedly "settled law."

ObamaCare to force 16 million to lose current coverage. Seniors forced to find other doctor.

Remember all the times Obama said this:

Millions are being forced off the plans they like and many who no option than to sign up for ObamaCare will no longer be able to see the doctor who is not part of the plan. House Speaker John Boehner worries that millions will lose health coverage and not even be able to sign up for new coverage. The net result being that fewer Americans will have health coverage after ObamaCare's implementation than before. Meanwhile, costs are going up, not down. The New York Times (again, NOT Fox News) reports that in rural areas ObamaCare will cost more and the poor will be hardest hit.

*** UPDATE 1: Thousands of elderly patients in New York told they can no longer see their doctor. The man or woman they have come to trust in their time of need is being taken away because of ObamaCare.

*** UPDATE 2: Senator Ron Johnson (R-WI) is proposing the "If You Like Your Health Plan, You Can Keep It Act." Obama says he's open to ideas from both sides (yet never seems to accept ANY from Republicans).

Even the television networks that did their best to ignore Obama's many other scandals are not able to ignore this one:

The disastrous sign up is the first taste of a very bitter pill to follow. ObamaCare is the nightmare that never ends!

Obama tries to change subject before going off to campaign

What's Obama's reaction to the growing tumult? He is trying to change the subject to immigration which I must point out again, is already settled law. And since that's not likely to get anywhere (even Marco Rubio has pulled back) after he and top Dems poisoned the well during the government shutdown, he's off to campaign and fundraise for Democrats.

President Reagan used to say to terrorists "you can run but you can't hide." I'd rephrase that and say to Obama "you can campaign, but you can't hide." Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said congress had to pass ObamaCare so the American people "could find out what is in it." Now we have and we don't like it. And we know who to blame and it's not the Republicans. It's called ObamaCare for a reason!

Former VP Dick Cheney: Obama is the "Extremist" Not the Tea Party

Cheney: Tea Party necessary to shake things up!

If you know former Vice President Dick Cheney's history (I highly recommend his autobiography) you'll know that while he's always been a conservative he wasn't one of the bomb throwers on the right. As White House Chief of Staff to Gerald Ford he defended Ford against the conservative challenge from Ronald Reagan in 1976. Later, as a member of the U.S. House of Representatives elected from Wyoming in 1978, he steered a more centrist path through the GOP caucus eventually rising to a leadership position under the go along to get along House Minority Leader Rep. Bob Michel (R-IL).

Taking that into consideration, his comments here about the Tea Party are especially instructive:

FMR VICE PRES. DICK CHENEY: I'm not unsympathetic to the frustration, I think, that's led many Americans to sign on for or become part of the tea party. I'm as frustrated as anybody else can be, but I think we have a situation where the circumstances in Washington, the inability and the unwillingness of the this administration to come to grips with our basic long-term debt problem, for example. The frustration out there is very, very high. And so when I see people talking about the tea party, I don't think of the tea party as extremists the way some of the folks in Washington want to describe them. The extremist in Washington is Barack Obama. He's the guy that wants to fundamentally transform our health care system. He's the guy who has done enormous damage to America's standing in the world. To the extent there is an extremist or radical political view in Washington these days, I believe it is the president of the United States.
Cheney went on to say that it's perfectly natural for new Tea Party leaders like Ted Cruz to break some of the "crockery" and that might upset some in the old guard. It's also essential, according to Cheney, that new leaders come forward with bold ideas. He cited his daughter Liz's campaign for U.S. Senate in Wyoming as an example.

Cheney's appearance on Monday night was a reminder of what it was like when the adults were still in charge in Washington. Unlike the current Vice President, Cheney never embarrassed us every time he opened his mouth!

CNN Report: Affordable Care Act Unaffordable for Many Middle Class Families

Obama and the Dems can no longer hide behind Obama's perpetual campaign!

Whether it's the editorial boards listed below or stories from across the nation (1,2), people are waking up to what the Wall Street Journal called "a political con job." All the promises Obama made about the Affordable Care Act (ObamaCare) were one giant lie.

Even CNN got into the act with this report:

First, there's Christy Metzger, a part time teacher.

GRIFFIN: After a week of trying, finally figured out just what kind of insurance she could get under the Affordable Care Act, and for her, it seems unaffordable.

METZGER: And when I logged on I was like, "No, this is very bad." This is much higher than we were currently paying.

Next, a small businessman.

GRIFFIN: The results, no matter which way he goes, he will be paying much more.

JOSHUA STRICKLAND: What I found was that the plans made available were almost twice as expensive.

GRIFFIN: His renewal under his current plan will increase by 9.8% to a monthly cost of $540. His deductible will jump, too, actually doubling from 500 to a thousand dollars. Under the Affordable Care Act, he says, the most comparable plan for himself and his three children is much worse. He was quoted $838 a month, with a $1,000 deductible, and that is after taxpayers kick in a $150-per-month subsidy.

Finally, a 56 year old woman who only makes $24,000 a year:

GRIFFIN: She has chosen to have no health insurance. She currently needs health care, she goes to a hospital and pays the prorated cost for uninsured patients. "You must have been somewhat excited?"

HELEN CUMMINS: Oh, my God, I was so totally excited.

GRIFFIN: When she finally got through, signed up, and found out she would not qualify for a subsidy or Medicaid. She learned her cheapest option under the Affordable Care Act is between $357 and $387 a month with a $6,000 deductible. It's just too much, she says.

HELEN CUMMINS: I was hurt. I was truly hurt because of the fact that I was expecting better. I was really expecting better.
So many Americans who swallowed Obama's promises on health care and so much else now realize they have been conned, as the Wall Street Journal says. No wonder the Obama Administration deliberately delayed implementation of ObamaCare until after the 2012 election. As the New York Times reports:
Politics made things worse. To avoid giving ammunition to Republicans opposed to the project, the administration put off issuing several major rules until after last November’s elections.
We could all have been spared this train wreck if newspapers like the New York Times and others had done their job in 2012 instead of waiting a year. So, now we are stuck with an incompetent and corrupt president who is ramming the worst health care law in history down the throat of the American people. Don't say we didn't warn you!

Tuesday's Top Editorial Pages Blast ObamaCare Incompetence

If only these papers had held Obama accountable a year ago we wouldn't be in this mess!

The Wall Street Journal titled it's editorial "1-800-ObamaCare-Denial" and points out that "building the website was supposed to be the easy part. The health law's fiasco of a debut doesn't inspire confidence in those other ambitions, such as re-engineering how U.S. medicine is provided." The Journal adds that Obama used his Monday Rose Garden appearance as an "infomercial" in which Obama failed to:
explain[] what went wrong, and why, and where the buck stops, or if there is even a provisional timetable for when the exchanges will function properly. Instead he minimized the severity of the problems, perhaps for political reasons. Or maybe he didn't say because the defects are so deep that no one can identify the specific solutions.

By the way, we called the hotline on Monday and the automated menu redirected us to Healthcare.gov, which in turn told us to get in touch with someone at the call center.
The Journal summed up with this:
[T]he exchanges fiasco is revealing the larger truth that ObamaCare's claim to technocratic expertise was always a political con. It won over the New Yorker and made ObamaCare designer Peter Orszag a celebrity. But it was all a veneer for ObamaCare's real goal, which is to centralize political control over health care.

That false front is clear now as we are told to ignore the faulty rollout because it will get fixed, eventually, and in any case the law is really about reducing inequality. At least now Democrats are being honest. The actual results will always matter less to liberals than their good intentions and expanding the reach of government.
The Washington Post editorial said that " the computer snafu was self-inflicted incompetence." They added:
Mr. Obama said Monday that “the number of people who’ve visited the site has been overwhelming,” with about 20 million site visits to date. Why is that so overwhelming? Commercial computer systems such as Google and Facebook manage to handle billions of visitors every month. The U.S. government runs supercomputers for national defense applications that are among the highest-performing in the world. Mr. Obama’s administration seems to have behaved as if this project were not a priority.
...
But he must also pay more attention to credibility and transparency. Why has Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius declined to testify this week before a House committee? She ought to meet critics head-on, instead of claiming a scheduling conflict. And officials refuse to say how many people have enrolled in the health-care plans through the federal portal. Why the secrecy? The administration is not going to restore confidence through secrecy and damage control.
USA Today asks: "President vows action, but where has he been?" They point to the near panic in the Obama Administration and say:
[Y]ou can't help but wonder: Where was all this frantic effort in the three-and-a-half years from the time Obama signed the health law to the day the exchanges opened on Oct. 1? Because that might have helped avoid the unforced error that is raising doubts about the administration's ability to manage other pieces of the complex law.
USA also blasted the Obama Administration's lack of transparency:
[T]he administration remains mostly clammed up. It won't say how many people have enrolled. It won't fully detail the problems. And it hasn't identified key subcontractors who botched the $400 million start-up, or the team brought in for repairs.

Any undertaking this complex was sure to have problems — and not just at the cash registers. But the administration is making a big mistake if it thinks it can stonewall its way through them. Far better to expose the weaknesses — and move quickly to fix them. A stream of surprises like the website mess will leave its credibility in tatters.he administration remains mostly clammed up. The New York Times raised similar concerns:
The administration created the Web site so the buck necessarily stops with high officials — Kathleen Sebelius, the secretary of health and human services, and President Obama himself — who allowed this to happen. The administration attributes the problems partly to unexpectedly high demand from people eager to compare insurance policies available in their states and partly to technical glitches that blocked or slowed people from submitting applications and erroneous data being sent to insurers. Why the administration failed to anticipate the high demand has never been explained. Nor has it clearly explained the nature of the technical problems — or who in government or among the private contractors is primarily responsible for them.
For some comic relief, let's go to Comedy Central's Jon Stewart's commentary on the Daily Show:

Jay Leno chimed in too: Leno: ‘Easier to Join Al Qaeda Using Their Website Than it is to Sign Up for ObamaCare.’ More here.

If Barack Hussein Obama, who some on the left declared was the "smartest man ever" to sit in the Oval Office can't manage a web site, and refuses to be be held accountable or offer full transparency of what went wrong and why, it justifies Americans concerns about his takeover of health care. Don't say we didn't warn you!

Obama's Campaign Style Rallies Won't Stop the ObamaCare Train Wreck

And even the mainstream media has stopped covering up Obama's incompetence!

Earlier I posted the Obama Zombie swooning during Obama's desperate campaign style event to try and counter the all too clear consensus that the rollout of ObamaCare is a total bust. But also, I'd like to discuss more of the substance of  Monday's event and put it in context.

At the White House on Moday, Obama delivered yet another long winded appeal to try and sell ObamaCare. But these appeals are starting to grow tiresome even for his supporters. Maureen Dowd of the New York Times has taken to calling Obama "Sir Lecturealot."  After three years and hundreds of millions of dollars Obama is left in the embarrassing position of trying to explain away the fact that the main portal that is required to sign up for ObamaCare does not work. He even resorted to repeating an 800 number for people to call instead. However, phoning that number doesn't mean you can sign up, but only get an information package. One report described reaching the number only to be told to contact the failing web site. ABC reports a man who spent 4.5 hours on the phone and still couldn't sign up.

Monday's pathetic attempt to avoid accountability for this mess stands in stark contrast to what Obama said days before the October 1 train wreck began. At that White House campaign style event in late September Obama promised:
Now, this is real simple. It’s a website where you can compare and purchase affordable health insurance plans, side-by-side, the same way you shop for a plane ticket on Kayak -- (laughter) -- same way you shop for a TV on Amazon. You just go on and you start looking, and here are all the options.
...
if you’ve ever tried to buy insurance on your own, I promise you this is a lot easier. It's like booking a hotel or a plane ticket.
Really? Is Obama THAT clueless? Remember that the Democrats billed Obama as the smartest guy ever to hold the office of President and he can't even manage a lemon stand let alone a complex takeover of health care.

In September and again on Monday Obama promised that ObamaCare would be cheaper than current insurance. But that promise, along with ease of use for the web site, or "if you like your plan" (or your doctor) you can keep it.

Of course we've covered the failure of those promises before but it doesn't hurt to add to that record. NBC News (not Fox) had a story describing how hundreds of thousands of people across the country were losing the plans they liked and being forced into ObamaCare plans that cost more and deliver less.
NBC: Florida Blue, for example, is terminating about 300,000 policies, about 80 percent of its individual policies in the state. Kaiser Permanente in California has sent notices to 160,000 people – about half of its individual business in the state. Insurer Highmark in Pittsburgh is dropping about 20 percent of its individual market customers, while Independence Blue Cross, the major insurer in Philadelphia, is dropping about 45 percent.
...
“Some receiving cancellations say it looks like their costs will go up, despite studies projecting that about half of all enrollees will get income-based subsidies.

“Kris Malean, 56, lives outside Seattle, and has a health policy that costs $390 a month with a $2,500 deductible and a $10,000 in potential out-of-pocket costs for such things as doctor visits, drug costs or hospital care.

“As a replacement, Regence BlueShield is offering her a plan for $79 more a month with a deductible twice as large as what she pays now, but which limits her potential out-of-pocket costs to $6,250 a year, including the deductible.

“‘My impression was …there would be a lot more choice, driving some of the rates down' said Malean
Where did Kris Malean get the impression "there would be a lot more choice, driving some of the rates down?" Why,from Obama of course. Sorry Kris!

It's the same story across the country and negative reports abound in even the liberal media. People are finding out that ObamaCare is not what Obama advertised. Here's a state by state comparison showing the small number of groups that will actually save money compared to the huge sticker shock for the rest of us:

At Monday's White House briefing NBC's Chuck Todd (not Fox News) grilled Press Secretary Jay Carney demanding to know who misled the President on the poor state of ObamaCare's readiness. It's a fair question since Obama doesn't seem to be engaged much in the actual process of governing. As Maureen Dowd points out, Sir Leacturealot seems to enjoy only wagging his finger at the American people telling them he knows what's good for them even when he clearly does not. It's obvious to me that Obama misled himself as he must have believed that the fading power of his personality would be enough to drive forward the most audacious and destructive health care train wreck we are now witnessing!

Right on Cue, Obama Zombie Nearly Faints at Obama Rose Garden Speech

Perhaps the level of B.S. was just too much for her to stand!

Real Clear Politics has the video. I just wonder how long it will be before Obama blames the woman's condition on Ted Cruz?

Plus:

Obama links ObamaCare rollout disaster to government shutdown. Any excuse in a storm hunh?

CBS News Political Director says Obama on "credibility death spiral." Glad you finally noticed!

At non partisan National Journal Ron Fournier, former Associated Press White House correspondent writes: "Why Obama Should Be Freaked Out Over Obamacare. It's worse than we know, this is the easy part, and millions of Americans could be hurt."

At what point does the American "news" media admit that it's not just ObamaCare that is the train wreck. It's OBAMA!

JFK Would Join Today's Tea Party

Along with Reagan, ideas of lower taxes are the classic foundation of sound economic policy!

There are some who assert that Ronald Reagan would not be welcome in today's Republican Party. Rubbish! Reagan would be leading the charge for smaller government and less taxes. That's the platform he ran on and the one on which he built the longest and most robust economic recovery in American history.

Reagan would feel right at home with the Tea Party and so would John F. Kennedy. Watch the following short video. Can you imagine Obama saying this today?

JFK embraces tax cuts to spur economic growth 50 years ago and 20 years before Reagan signed his landmark legislation.

In the Boston Globe Jeff Jacoby asks "Would Democrats embrace JFK now?":
Today’s Democratic Party — the home of Barack Obama, John Kerry, and Al Gore — wouldn’t give the time of day to a candidate like JFK.
The 35th president was an ardent tax-cutter who championed across-the-board, top-to-bottom reductions in personal and corporate tax rates, slashed tariffs to promote free trade, and even spoke out against the “confiscatory” property taxes being levied in too many cities.
He was anything but a big-spending, welfare-state liberal. “I do not believe that Washington should do for the people what they can do for themselves through local and private effort,” Kennedy bluntly avowed during the 1960 campaign. One of his first acts as president was to institute a pay cut for top White House staffers, and that was only the start of his budgetary austerity. “To the surprise of many of his appointees,” longtime aide Ted Sorensen would later write, he “personally scrutinized every agency request with a cold eye and encouraged his budget director to say ‘no.’ ”
On the other hand, he was a Cold War anticommunist who aggressively increased military spending. He faulted his Republican predecessor for tailoring the nation’s military strategy to fit the budget, rather than the other way around. “We must refuse to accept a cheap, second-best defense,” JFK said during his run for the White House. He made good on that pledge, pushing defense spending to 50 percent of federal expenditures and 9 percent of GDP, both far higher than today’s levels. Speaking in Texas just hours before his death, he proudly took credit for building the US military into “a defense system second to none.”
Those who say the Republican Party has done too far right first need to answer why the Democrat Party has gone so far left that they would abandon JFK. Both Reagan and JFK had the right idea and history has proven their case. Why do today's Democrats deny it?

Mother Nature Continues to Embarrass Global Warming Alarmists

But that doesn't stop the alarmists from repeating the big lie. For them, too much money is at stake to concede defeat!

Al Gore, who has gotten rich off global warming alarmism and subsequent green cronyism, is still at it. In an interview for Blomberg last week he said:
“The most powerful voice is that of Mother Nature, the increasing storms, floods, droughts and other extreme events,” Gore said. “We’re paying the cost of carbon every day and we should put a price on carbon in markets and put a price on denial in the political system.”
Obama and Secretary of State John Kerry have said similar nonsense recently as well. Just one problem: not one word of it is true.

While CO2 emissions continue to rise worldwide, this despite a significant drop in U.S. emissions, the calamity predicted over the last 20 years by the global warming alarmists has not happened.

Take this year for example:
There have been many forecasts in the news in recent years predicting more and more extreme weather-related events in the US, but for 2013 that prediction has been way off the mark. Whether you’re talking about tornadoes, wildfires, extreme heat or hurricanes, the good news is that weather-related disasters in the US are all way down this year compared to recent years and, in some cases, down to historically low levels.
And it's not just good news in the U.S. Global temperatures have flattened over the past decade and the polar ice caps are NOT melting. Just the opposite. This summer was one of the coldest on record for the Arctic. So much for the prediction that the Arctic would be ice free by 2008. What's next for the alarmists? A campaign to protect freezing Polar Bears?

It should come as no surprise that despite the attacks on those who disagree with the alarmist "sky is falling" crowd a growing number of earth scientists are no longer on board the alarmist bandwagon. A recent peer reviewed survey of earth scientists matches an earlier study of meteorologists in which a majority of those surveyed are skeptical of alarmist claims.

The latest review by the United Nations International Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) was largely greeted with a yawn as they had to concede things weren't as bad as previously claimed but insisted that was no reason to stop taxing energy in rich countries while poorer nations continue to go on burning fossil fuels.

Writing in the Washington Examiner Jim Lakely observes:
We’re all skeptics now because the science simply does not back up the hypothesis. For starters, there’s been no rise in global temperatures for 15 years.

The IPCC’s Fifth Assessment Report concedes for the first time that global temperatures have not risen since 1998, despite a 7 percent rise in carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions.

To put that into perspective, global human CO2 emissions in the last 15 years represent about one-third of all human CO2 emissions since the start of the Industrial Revolution, and yet temperatures didn’t budge.

Nearly all of the UN-approved climate computer models were wrong. The IPCC finally admitted as much.

The IPCC also admits that the “hockey stick” it used to feature in past reports wasn’t accurate. Penn State professor Michael Mann has been dining out for years on his infamous "hockey stick,” a dread graph featured by Al Gore in his Oscar-winning documentary “An Inconvenient Truth.”

The graph looked so dramatic — like a hockey stick — only because it ignored the Medieval Warm Period, a time about a thousand years ago when temperatures were warmer than today — when wine grapes grew in England and Greenland was green.

The “hockey stick” is missing from the Fifth Assessment Report, and the IPCC admits the Medieval Warm Period was warmer and more global than it claimed in the past.
Lakely titled his article: "The age of climate alarmism is coming to an end." And while the wheels of the global warming alarmist bus certainly are coming off, the fraud will continue as long as governments and green cronies can keep raking in billions to fight a problem that never existed. After all, if truth be told, the great global warming scare has always been less about saving the planet than advancing a socialist agenda on a global scale. The following quote says it all:

UPDATE: World Spends $1 Billion a Day to Combat Global Warming.
Imagine all the good that could be accomplished addressing REAL problems if that money were not being misspent on a giant fraud!

The Harder Obama Admin Tries to Cover Up ObamaCare Failure, the More Incompetent They Appear

As if they could be MORE incompetent than they are already!

ObamaCare Was Built Using Outdated Technology

Technology Experts Are Claiming That The ObamaCare Exchange Was Constructed “Using 10-Year-Old Technology That May Require Constant Fixes And Updates For The Next Six Months.” “The federal health care exchange was built using 10-year-old technology that may require constant fixes and updates for the next six months and the eventual overhaul of the entire system, technology experts told USA TODAY.” (Kelly Kennedy, “Tech Experts: Health Exchange Site Needs Total Overhaul,” USA Today, 10/17/13)
  • “The Application Could Be Fundamentally Flawed … They May Be Using 1990′s Technology In 2.0 World.” “‘The application could be fundamentally flawed,’ said Jeff Kim, president of CDNetworks, a content-delivery network. ‘They may be using 1990s technology in 2.0 world.’” (Kelly Kennedy, “Tech Experts: Health Exchange Site Needs Total Overhaul,” USA Today, 10/17/13)

  • Health Care Executive: “This Is Very Early Web 1.0 Type Of Fix.” “‘I have never seen a website – in the last five years – require you to delete the cache in an effort to resolve errors,’ said Dan Schuyler, a director at Leavitt Partners, a health care group by former Health and Human Services secretary Mike Leavitt. ‘This is a very early Web 1.0 type of fix.’” (Kelly Kennedy, “Tech Experts: Health Exchange Site Needs Total Overhaul,” USA Today, 10/17/13)
“Outsiders … Said They Feared HHS Built A System That Will Need An Expensive Overhaul.” “Outsiders acknowledged they can’t see the whole system, but they said they feared HHS built a system that will need an expensive overhaul that would cause more headaches for people trying to buy insurance.” (Kelly Kennedy, “Tech Experts: Health Exchange Site Needs Total Overhaul,” USA Today, 10/17/13)

Nearly Three Weeks Since ObamaCare’s Launch, The Administration Continues To Send Faulty Enrollment Data To Insurers

Insurers Continue To Get Flawed Data, “In A Sign That Technological Problems Extend Further Than Website Traffic And Software Issues Already Identified.”“Insurers say the federal health-care marketplace is generating flawed data that is straining their ability to handle even the trickle of enrollees who have gotten through so far, in a sign that technological problems extend further than the website traffic and software issues already identified.” (Christopher Weaver and Louise Radnofsky, “Health Website Woes Widen As Insurers Get Wrong Data,” The Wall Street Journal, 10/18/13)
  • “Errors Include Duplicate Enrollments, Spouses Reported As Children, Missing Data Fields And Eligibility Determinations.” “Emerging errors include duplicate enrollments, spouses reported as children, missing data fields and suspect eligibility determinations, say executives at more than a dozen health plans. Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Nebraska said it had to hire temporary workers to contact new customers directly to resolve inaccuracies in submissions. Medical Mutual of Ohio said one customer had successfully signed up for three of its plans.” (Christopher Weaver and Louise Radnofsky, “Health Website Woes Widen As Insurers Get Wrong Data,” The Wall Street Journal, 10/18/13)
“The Flaws Could Do Lasting Damage To” ObamaCare. “The flaws could do lasting damage to the law if customers are deterred from signing up or mistakenly believe they have obtained coverage.” (Christopher Weaver and Louise Radnofsky, “Health Website Woes Widen As Insurers Get Wrong Data,” The Wall Street Journal, 10/18/13)

The Faulty Data Problems Continue To Go Unfixed

October 8, 2013: “Insurers Are Getting Faulty And Incomplete Data” From The Exchanges. “Insurers are getting faulty and incomplete data from the new U.S.-run health exchange, which may mean some Americans won’t be covered even after they sign up for an insurance plan.” (Drew Armstrong and Alex Nussbaum, “Insurers Getting Faulty Data From U.S. Health Exchanges,” Bloomberg, 10/8/13)
“Each Night, Healthcare.Gov Is Supposed To Send A Batch Of New Enrollments To The Insurers. Called ’834 Files,’ The Data Have Long Been An Industry Standard In The Private Sector.” (Drew Armstrong and Alex Nussbaum, “Insurers Getting Faulty Data From U.S. Health Exchanges,” Bloomberg, 10/8/13)
  • Insurers That Receive ObamaCare Enrollee Data Have To Fix The Faulty Files, Potentially Creating A Large Backup. “To fix the files, insurers have to go through them by hand. When thousands of people sign up, as the U.S. is hoping will happen before mid-December, it may create a large backup, the two consultants said.” (Drew Armstrong and Alex Nussbaum, “Insurers Getting Faulty Data From U.S. Health Exchanges,” Bloomberg, 10/8/13)
Amongst The Files Insurers Are Receiving, Some Are Unable To Be Opened “Or Have So Much Missing Information On New Enrollees They’re Unusable.” “While it’s not clear how widespread the problem is, the reports from industry consultants are the first hint that the technical troubles faced by consumers trying to enroll in health plans under the Affordable Care Act may also be hitting the insurers. The companies are receiving electronic files that can’t open or have so much missing information on new enrollees they’re unusable, the consultants said.” (Drew Armstrong and Alex Nussbaum, “Insurers Getting Faulty Data From U.S. Health Exchanges,” Bloomberg, 10/8/13)

As The Administration Remains Tight-Lipped Over ObamaCare Problems, Allies Are Becoming Frustrated With Its Roll-Out

ObamaCare Supporters Are Becoming “Frustrated By The Lack Of Answers From The Administration.” “Supporters of the law said they were frustrated by the lack of answers from the administration. ‘I wish they would explain what the technical problems are and how they intend to fix them,’ said Timothy Jost, a law professor at Washington and Lee University and a longtime defender of the overhaul.” (Christopher Weaver and Louise Radnofsky, “Health Website Woes Widen As Insurers Get Wrong Data,” The Wall Street Journal, 10/18/13)
HHS Has “Repeatedly Declined To Answer Specific Questions” About ObamaCare’s Disastrous Rollout. “HHS, which is running all or part of the marketplaces in 36 states, has repeatedly declined to answer specific questions about its handling of the rollout, including specific glitches, enrollment figures, or its plans to fix the problems.” (Christopher Weaver and Louise Radnofsky, “Health Website Woes Widen As Insurers Get Wrong Data,” The Wall Street Journal, 10/18/13)
  • HHS Has Also “Pressured Insurers To Refrain From Commenting Publicly About The Problems.” “Health-department officials have pressured insurers to refrain from commenting publicly about the problems, according to executives at four health plans, who asked not to be named. The HHS declined to comment.” (Christopher Weaver and Louise Radnofsky, “Health Website Woes Widen As Insurers Get Wrong Data,” The Wall Street Journal, 10/18/13)
Why is it that no one has been fired yet?

Now, Even the Liberal Media Understands ObamaCare is a Fiasco!

Millions are discovering what those on the right knew all along!

ObamaCare's signup process continues to be a fiasco. Even worse, if anyone actually is able to sign up, they quickly find out that ObamaCare, officially known as the "Affordable Care Act" is anything but.

Last week I post the story from the Washington Free Beacon of the Alabama family whose premiums shot up by 300%. The week before that, the story from the San Jose Mercury News describing how millions of California residents are having similar sticker shock.

Yet, one of the few liberals who shows up here at Mike's America and still defends the corrupt and incompetent Obama Administration and the equally corrupt and incompetent ObamaCare insisted that these and multiple other reports were nothing more than "Fox News lies." Though, apparently this commenter failed to notice that none of the stories originated with Fox News or papers owned by Richard Murdoch.

Since then, I've collected a few new clippings from papers around the country. Let's start with the New York Times (not exactly Fox News now is it?):
WASHINGTON — In March, Henry Chao, the chief digital architect for the Obama administration’s new online insurance marketplace, told industry executives that he was deeply worried about the Web site’s debut. “Let’s just make sure it’s not a third-world experience,” he told them.

Two weeks after the rollout, few would say his hopes were realized.

For the past 12 days, a system costing more than $400 million and billed as a one-stop click-and-go hub for citizens seeking health insurance has thwarted the efforts of millions to simply log in. The growing national outcry has deeply embarrassed the White House, which has refused to say how many people have enrolled through the federal exchange.
The Times article went on to quote an industry executive who said "These are not glitches. The extent of the problems is pretty enormous. At the end of our calls, people say, ‘It’s awful, just awful.'"

Due to Obama Administration incompetence the government contractor charged with the primary work on the web site did not even begin work on it until last spring. No wonder it doesn't work. Can you imagine a private company wasting millions on a system that was rushed at the last minute and not properly tested? How long would they remain in business?

Kathleen Sibelius, Secretary of Health and Human Services and the ObamaCare Czar repeatedly assured the public things would be different. In late July she said " “We Are On Track To Flip The Switch On October First And Say To People Come On And Sign Up." How long would she keep her job if she were in the private sector?

It's bad enough that people can't sign up after two weeks. It's worse when they actually do. Here's a report from the Chicago Tribune (again, not Fox News):
Obamacare deductibles a dose of sticker shock
Insurance companies requiring higher out-of-pocket expenses to comply with new rules
October 13, 2013|By Peter Frost, Chicago Tribune reporter

Adam Weldzius, a nurse practitioner, considers himself better informed than most when it comes to the inner workings of health insurance. But even he wasn't prepared for the pocketbook hit he'll face next year under President Barack Obama's health care overhaul.

If the 33-year-old single father wants the same level of coverage next year as what he has now with the same insurer and the same network of doctors and hospitals, his monthly premium of $233 will more than double. If he wants to keep his monthly payments in check, the Carpentersville resident is looking at an annual deductible for himself and his 7-year-old daughter of $12,700, a more than threefold increase from $3,500 today.
...
Many Illinoisans buying health coverage on their own next year will face a similar dilemma spurred by the health care overhaul: pay higher monthly insurance premiums or run the risk of having to shell out thousands more in deductibles for health care if they get sick.

To promote the Oct. 1 debut of the exchanges, the online marketplaces where consumers can shop and buy insurance, Obama administration and Illinois officials touted the lower-than-expected monthly premiums that would make insurance more affordable for millions of Americans. But a Tribune analysis shows that 21 of the 22 lowest-priced plans offered on the Illinois health insurance exchange for Cook County have annual deductibles of more than $4,000 for an individual and $8,000 for family coverage.

Those deductibles, which represent the out-of-pocket money consumers must spend on health care before most insurance benefits kick in, are higher than what many consumers expected or may be able to stomach, benefit experts said.
And the Detroit Free Press (not Fox News) reports that insurers who provided low cost family plans in Michigan are sending their policy holders letters informing them their current coverage will be terminated as these plans do not meet ObamaCare's mandatory requirements that many buyers do not even need. At least 146,000 and potentially thousands more are affected.

These reports are just the tip of a very large iceberg that is about to smash into the American health care system in the months ahead. What a shame Obama and his supporters cannot admit they made a mistake and cannot accept that the demands of those on the other side to change course are reasonable. But at least one thing is for sure, ObamaCare supporters can't blame this mess on the GOP!

Patriots and Veterans Remove Monument "Barrycades" and Take to White House

Mr. Obama TEAR DOWN THIS WALL!

Readers may recall that during the Iraq War, anti-war activist Cindy Sheehan was made into a celebrity who covered her every move as she criticized President Bush. Over the weekend, patriots and veterans gathered at the monuments in Washington, DC closed by the Obama Administration in their phony shutdown and removed the "barrycades" and even took some of them to the White House with a note "return to sender." You probably didn't hear much about that as it went largely uncovered by the so-called "news" media.

I guess the liberal media doesn't want Americans to know that angry veterans have figured out who is to blame for the unprecedented blockade of their memorials.

Here are some pictures you won't see in your newspaper:

Veterans remove the barrycades outside the World War II Memorial in Washington, DC.

They pulled them down from the Lincoln Memorial as well. Until now, the Memorial had NEVER been closed. Not even in prior government shutdowns.

Patriots carried some of the Barrycades to the White House.

Among the patriots and veterans was Johnny "Joey" Jones, a Marine who lost his legs while trying to defuse bombs in Afghanistan. His heart wrenching story is here. This country is so blessed to have brave patriots like Joey and he was at the World War II Memorial this weekend to lend his support. We owe Joey, as well as this fellow comrades who did not come back more than blockades!

If you are on Twitter, go and thank Joey for his service and his patriotism. Like his page on Facebook.

Did Obama get the message that this slap at our veterans was a bad idea? Sadly, no. The barrycades went right back up on Monday! Patriots need to be ready to send the message again and again until Obama gets it!

Mr. Obama, TEAR DOWN THIS WALL!

Your ObamaCare Escape Hatch

Get insurance, dump ObamaCare and save money!

Here's a story that is being played out in millions of American homes as ObamaCare looms. A middle class family in Alabama has seen it's health insurance skyrocket from $463 to $1,012.47 because of the new requirements of ObamaCare. For a family with six children insurance is essential, but a rate hike of almost  300% means the family may have to do without other essentials.

For middle class families who have borne the brunt of Obama's disastrous economic and energy policies, this latest slap may be the last straw. But there is a way out.

Under ObamaCare you are required to have health insurance. But if you buy a policy from the ObamaCare exchanges you will be paying for a whole laundry list of add-ons that you may never need. But what if you paid the fine to the IRS and then bought a policy from a private company that was not loaded up with ObamaCares unnecessary extras? You'd still be covered and at a much lower rate.

That's what one company is offering.

Video link.

Of course you won't be paying into ObamaCare's bloated system filled with liberal goodies like free contraception for rich lawyers like Sandra Fluke. But chances are pretty good that millions will skip out on paying for what they don't need so you won't be alone. Sadly, when ObamaCare does come crashing down the Dems will only demand MORE government intervention into health care, not less but that would happen anyway!

Obama Opens National Mall for Pro Immigrant Political Rally but Refuses to Help Survivors of Fallen Soldiers

Further proof this government shutdown is really a scam!

All national monuments are closed due to the Obama Administration's policy in implementing a partial government shutdown. Even the Lincoln Memorial, which has never been closed before, along with other monuments not affected by prior shutdowns are shut even though the government has as many or more guards to block access as they would during operations.

The National Mall is also closed. Unless you happen to be aligned with Obama's political agenda. Here's a photo of thousands of pro immigrant amnesty protesters who were given permission to hold their rally at the same time veterans continue to be blocked from memorials further down the Mall.

Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) thanked Obama for opening the Mall for this political event.

[Side Note: Rush Limbaugh points out that Democrats say protests against ObamaCare are illegitimate because it's settled law. Immigration law is settled too so aren't these protests also illegitimate?]

No Special Treatment for Families of Dead Soldiers

Meanwhile, the bodies of five American soldiers killed in Afghanistan are on their way home. Typically, the families would be invited at government expense to be present when their caskets arrive in Dover, Delaware. Not this time. The Obama Administration has refused the usual burial arrangements due to the shutdown and any payments to help families will be delayed.

Dead soldiers refused the honor they are due because they aren't Obama's political allies.
This shutdown is a transparent scam and the only person to blame is Obama!

Duped Obama Voters Get the Bill for ObamaCare and Are Mad As Hell

We tried to warn them but they drank the Obama Kool Aid!

The San Jose Mercury News has the story of middle class Obama voters who just received their bills for the new insurance they are required to buy under ObamaCare. In one case, an individual policy costs $1800 a year more in another it's $10,000 more for a family.

They believed Obama when he repeatedly said "if you like your plan you can keep it." They believed Obama when he repeatedly said ObamaCare would lower premiums by $2500.

It's estimated there are up to 2 million policy holders in California in similar situations, tens of millions nationwide. Especially hard hit will be middle class families, the very group Obama repeatedly claims he wants to help.

We tried to warn them but they wouldn't listen. In the Mercury News story, Republicans were derided:
"I was laughing at Boehner -- until the mail came today," Waschura said, referring to House Speaker John Boehner, who is leading the Republican charge to defund Obamacare.

"I really don't like the Republican tactics, but at least now I can understand why they are so pissed about this. When you take $10,000 out of my family's pocket each year, that's otherwise disposable income or retirement savings that will not be going into our local economy."
At least this Obama voter now realizes who has been fighting on the side of the middle class and it's not Obama!

Obama Seeks to Close the Ocean in Yet Another Manufactured Shut Down Nightmare

Yet, his favorite military golf course is still open for business!

When Obama clinched his parties nomination for president in 2008 he declared "this was the moment when the rise of the oceans began to slow and our planet began to heal." Little did we know his messiah complex would extend so far as to try and control the oceans.

Yet, his Administration is blocking access to fishing in federal waters around Florida citing the government shutdown as their excuse even though they may use more personnel and resources to enforce the ban than under normal circumstances.

Responding to other silly shutdowns, one anonymous Park Service Ranger admitted "We’ve been told to make life as difficult for people as we can. It’s disgusting." Never before has any Administration been so blatant in it's willingness to inflict hardship on the American people at the same time they attempt to blame Republicans for their own actions!

Obama has no shame. He's little more than an Alyinskyite thug who is willing to say or do anything to get his way. But has he cried WOLF once too often?

Now, Obama WILL Negotiate with Republicans?

Well, not really, but he wants you to think he will!

Obama must be feeling the heat. After weeks of saying he won't negotiate with House Republicans On Monday Obama seemed to change his tune:
OBAMA: I heard a lot of talk over the weekend that the real problem is, is that the President will not negotiate. Well, let me tell you something -- I have said from the start of the year that I’m happy to talk to Republicans about anything related to the budget. There’s not a subject that I am not willing to engage in, work on, negotiate, and come up with common-sense compromises on.
That flies in the face of his repeated refusal to negotiate captured so well in this video from House Speaker John Boehner:

But did Obama really blink? Following the statement above Obama had conditions:
OBAMA: We’re not going to negotiate under the threat of further harm to our economy and middle-class families. We’re not going to negotiate under the threat of a prolonged shutdown until Republicans get 100 percent of what they want.
In other words, it's not the Republicans, but Obama who won't negotiate until he gets 100% of what he wants. And the idea of not negotiating over a Continuing Resolution is unprecedented. The history of debt ceiling increases is replete with examples of compromise on other issues.

Meanwhile, the phony shutdown drama drags on. Only 17% of the government is actually shut. But Obama won't worry. The golf course on Andrews Air Force Base is still open, even if the PX grocery stores on military bases nationwide are closed!

Storm the "Barrycades" and Expose Obama's Shutdown Scare Tactics

Obama and the Dems play the same silly tricks they did with phony sequester scare!

During the manufactured Sequester crisis, one valiant bureaucrat in the Department of Agriculture asked permission to spread out cuts in a way that would lessen their impact on public services. He was instructed by his superiors to do the opposite.

Already we've seen multiple examples that the Obama Administration has put that policy into practice on steroids during the current shutdown.

Just a few examples:
  • 7 National Park Service officals were sent to "barrycade" the World War II Memorial on the National Mall in Washington DC. They blocked aged veterans, many in wheel chairs. There were more federal forces to block the veterans than there were defenders on the ground in Benghazi the night our Ambassador and three other Americans were killed.
  • Mount Vernon, George Washington's home, is privately run, but the government is part owner of the parking lots. These were barrycaded to prevent people from parking even though no federal resource would be required to keep them open.
  • Just to show how incredibly petty this selective shutdown is, a small park on Capitol Hill, nothing more than a sliver of land between converging streets was barrycaded so parents could not take their children to the play area.
In these cases (there are others) the government used more resources to barrycade these outdoor resources than would be required to keep them open.

Also, I tried to access a government web site today but got a message stating that the site was unavailable due to the government shutdown. The government is still maintaining the servers and went to the expense of putting up shutdown pages. It wouldn't have cost them a penny more to simply keep the servers running with normal access to information.

Democrats and Obama talk about the GOP "holding America hostage" because of the GOP's not unreasonable request to negotiate a compromise solution which the Democrats have repeatedly refused to accept. But it's clear that it's Democrats and the Obama Administration that is holding America's parks and museums, as well as so much else, hostage. Speaker of the House John Boehner has a list of legislation passed by the house but rejected by the Senate and threatened with a veto by Obama.

When Dems call the GOP names instead of negotiating, the names they fling apply to themselves and Obama!

Dems Shutdown Strategy About to Backfire?

Has the boy cried "WOLF" once too often as Senate Dem leader denies cancer treatment for kids?

OBAMA: "You don’t negotiate by putting a gun to the other person’s head, or worse yet by putting gun to the American people’s head by threatening a shutdown.” Gun rhetoric? REALLY?

You have to hand it to Democrats. They do know how to stick to the songsheet in big moments like a government shutdown. They blame Republicans with a unison chorus using some of the most divisive and hyperpartisan rhetoric and their accomplices in the mainstream media dutifully report their remarks as if they were facts.

Over the past few weeks Democrats have called Republicans "hostage takers," "arsonists," "anarchists," and referred to them as "bomb strapped" terrorists who want to blow up the economy and "rape" the American people (more). White House Press Secretary Jay Carney went so far as to say that Republicans are "irresponsible and reckless," using "threat and extortion." According to Democrats all the pain of the government shutdown is entirely the fault of Republicans even though it is Democrats, including at Wednesday's White House meeting, that have refused all invitations to negotiate.

The regular way legislative differences between the House and Senate are worked out is in what is called a conference where the two sides negotiate. Since both the House and Senate have passed bills to fund the government, the constitutional process requires both sides to work it out. Below is the House conference committee sitting at the table opposite empty chairs where Senators would normally sit.

House negotiators are ready to engage in constitutionally require process. Where is the Senate?

Senate Democrats officially rejected the House call for a conference on Tuesday.

Senate Democrat Leader: No help for kids with cancer!

Since Senate Democrats have refused to negotiate Republicans in the House have been preparing a series of bills to fund parts of the government. The Senate passed and Obama signed legislation originating in the House to pay the military. Now, they are sending a bill to re-open parks and museums as well as make sure children get cancer treatments. Nothing doing says Senate Democrats.

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (DEMOCRAT-NV) let the real motivation behind this circus slip while taking a question from CNN's Dana Bash:

Transcript from Mediaite:
BASH: “You all talked about children with cancer unable to go to clinical trials,” Bash began her question. “The House is presumably going to pass a bill that funds at least the NIH. Given what you’ve said, will you at least pass that? And if not, aren’t you playing the same political games that Republicans are?”

In return, Reid chastised the reporter:

REID: Listen, Senator Durbin explained that very well, and he did it on the floor earlier. As did Senator Schumer. What right did they have to pick and choose what part of government is going to be funded? It’s obvious what’s going on here. You talk about reckless and irresponsible. Wow. What this is all about is Obamacare. They are obsessed. I don’t know what other word I can use. They’re obsessed with this Obamacare. It’s working now and it will continue to work and people will love it more than they do now by far. So they have no right to pick and choose.

BASH: But if you can help one child who has cancer, why wouldn’t you do it?

SCHUMER: Why pit one against the other?

REID: Why would we want to do that? I have 1,100 people at Nellis Air Force base that are sitting home. They have a few problems of their own. This is — to have someone of your intelligence to suggest such a thing maybe means you’re irresponsible and reckless.

BASH: I’m just asking a question.
Democrats like Reid seem to be throwing around that "irresponsible and reckless" label at just about anyone these days.

In that same press conference Reid said:
REID: We have to stop playing these foolish games that keep coming to us from the other side of the Capitol. This is not about him or me, about scoring points for one side or the other, name-calling, like the villain of villains. It's about doing the right thing for the American people. They expect us to act like adults.
"They expect us to act like adults." They sure have me fooled!

Then there's Obama, who said this:
BARACK OBAMA: “During the course of my presidency, I have bent over backwards to work with the Republican party and have purposely kept my rhetoric down. I think I’m pretty well known for being a calm guy.” (CNBC’s “Closing Bell,” 10/2/13)
Is Obama auditioning for a comedy act? How does this statement jive with this "gun to the head" rehtoric above? It's no secret he has been the most divisive and polarizing President in living memory. Will he now be firing his senior stagger who said they wouldn't "negotiate[e] with people with a bomb strapped to their chest."

Polls Suggest Americans Not Crying Wolf w/ Dems

Anyone who was paying attention during the great Sequester scare (remember how tame Obama's rhetoric was with that?) isn't likely to be panicked by the same scare tactics now. And polls show Americans are fairly evenly divided on placing blame. My prediction is that the longer Democrats continue with their "my way or the highway" style of governing the public will blame them for the problem. A few more stories about kids with cancer or World War II vets being blocked from their memorial might just wake people up to what is really going on!
